Return trip - menopause back to perimenopause?!

Hello ladies:

Chemo put me in menopause at age 45 (3 1/2 years ago) and in the last month or so, I've had some spotting. My OB/Gyn says it is reasonable for periods to return after chemo but to be on the safe side, we're exploring why this is happening.

I'm wondering if my TN friends could share any similar experiences. If your period returned after finishing chemo, how long after? Did it return to a more normal "flow" or did you have spotting before returning to normal? I know there are really just variations of normal but I will feel better knowing what others have experienced. Thanks!

I am having the same problem. My oncologist and nurse navigator said it could be erratic and irregular. I have off and on bleeding. Started this in September,13 months after finishing chemo, and its been unpredictable ever since. They said TN doesn't usually go to the uterus or ovaries. I'm also BRCA negative. I still worry though.

I forgot to add your question regarding flow. Mine is mostly light. Sometimes it only comes out when I pee. It's mixed with discharge and is mostly bright red. The doctor said it could have a different consistency, flow, etc., and the nurse navigator did say to expect the unexpected. I do have an appointment on the 29th for my Pap smear so I may ask to schedule an ultrasound because I'm tired of worrying about it!
