Mastectomy with TE- cc during initial surgery
just had BMX 1/10/14. PS said he put in 500cc during initial surgery. I do appear to be a (mis-shapened) b+ cup. I was previously a DD+ cup.
However, questioning if anyone else started so high?? In scanning these boards I don't see anyone that got 500cc during initial surgery.
I had one fill so far and it was only 30cc due to my complaints of pain and it being my first fill.
Anyone want to share their cc amounts during initial surgery?
Thanks

I had300 at time of BMX and have 800 silicone implants. I haven't heard of anyone getting 500 at time of BMX either.

Traceymomof3 - Hi and welcome to the sisterhood! (The place where nobody wants to be - but we make the best of it anyway!) As I recall, my PS put only150ccs in the TEs during my BMX - not much skin left. And then it was 50ccs every two weeks for nine sessions. I tried to talk her into more frequent fills (like weekly) early on so that we would be done faster, and she just smiled and said 'you're going to hate me enough every two weeks, let's not push it'. And she was right.
If you need advice or have questions about TEs or implant sizing go to the link below and find whippetmom. She's our resident expert in this area and will be glad to help you. You can add to her thread over there or private message her. She's great!

my PS did not start filling me until a month and a half after surgery. 60 cc at a time. Took 3 months to get up to 34b size. I wanted her to go faster but I had a lot of pain and she wouldn't. Sound like an art not a science. Everyone is treated so differently...

Tracy,
My surgery is not until May but my surgeon has said he will only put in 150ccs at most during the initial surgery. I am having nipple & skin sparing, and am a 32DD. I have seen what I thought were high initial fills of 300cc but 500cc is definitely not something I can recall seeing before.
Are you still hurting? You might want to ask for some to be removed so you can expand more slowly and let your body adjust to smaller expansions. This is definitely not a process you want to rush through.

i have the same thing. Just had my first fill I also only had half. In one week I will have a full dose. Going from a dd to a b was very different. Also the shape and pain is not fun. I massage with lotion to decrease the scares. A also have to go to physical therapy to move my arms. I have webbing in my right ( do to lymph nodes removed).

I had PBMX. My PS was able to place 360cc at time of surgery. Then I had 2 fills of 60cc each and the third and fourth time they put in 120cc. Final fill was 60cc. I then was exchanged to 800cc silicone round style 45 implants.

500cc's, wow! I had 200 initially, then 60, a couple of 120 fills, 100, and 50. I'm at 650cc's now and having my exchange in 2 days! I did not want to be as big as I was (DDD), so will also be having a reduction and lift on other side, as I'm a uni.

I had 100 initially and then a couple of 100 fills and I think a 150 if I remember right.

I got 300 cc on prophylactic side and 500 on cancer side. My BMx was jan 29. I had more on the prophylactic side but ps decided during surgery it was too much . She also said I may start fills this Tuesday. She does fills at 50cc variables; so 50, 100, 150 etc.

I received 120cc during my BMX. 7 weeks later I got my first fill of 60cc, 2weeks later 90cc and again 2 weeks after that. My final fill, two weeks later was 120cc. I am filled to 480cc. My exchange surgery is scheduled for the 19th.

I had 200 at surgery, and one fill of 150. That fill hurt for weeks. I was in agony. I stopped there. I have 421cc Natrelle implants. Ahhhh much better.

Yowza! Prior to BMX, I had very large breasts and lots of lax skin and muscle. I got fairly large TEs, but still - only filled to 180ccs in the OR.
PS waited a month to start regular fills, then got up to 650ccs in about five visits, I think.
Swapped out for 700cc saline implants 9 months later.

I had 360 at surgery. I was in such pain....no fill for 2 or 3 weeks. He told me initially that he usually does about 50cc/week. That is nowhere near what I ended up doing. I have never had a 50cc fill. He did 25 on only 1 side initially because I was in agony. Then, I think he did 30 on both sides a couple of weeks later. Eventually (after seeing a PT for myofascial release), they seemed to get a little better. I ALWAYS premedicated with Advil or Tylenol and muscle relaxers. My fill 2 weeks ago was 45cc....it was really uncomfortable again. I'll have my last fill this week....I just can't do it anymore. I am NOW at about 500cc. 500 cc is a LOT out of surgery. Everybody handles these things so differently. I see posts from people who have 100+ cc fills and do just fine. I cannot imagine. But, for some, it's no problem. Ask your PS to slow down or wait. This is not a race. This is one of the few things you get to have control over.

Hello I had a bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders filled to 360 cc during surgery. Dr. waited 3 weeks before my first fill of 60cc, and this past Monday had another fill of 60 cc which was my last one I think. First was horrible second fill wasn't bad. 500 cc does sound like a lot. If you're in a lot of pain they can remove some. Best of luck!

Hi, I had 240 cc put in at the time of BMX. Then, I had two 50 cc fills weekly started 2 weeks from sx.
I'm at 340 cc now. I was 32B before surgery, and I don't know how much more I need to put in to make it full C cup when exchanges are done for my 5'4, 105 lb frame. Having wide TE in, it's difficult to gauge... Any suggestions?

I had BMX with TE filled to 200cc at surgery. Started fills 3 weeks later and have been getting 60cc every two weeks. I am usually pretty sore for a day or two and take a pain pill the day of the fill sometimes. Muscle relaxers and Advil for a few days after. I am thinking of trying 100 cc for my next 2 fills. I am at 430cc now and hoping to get through this and to exchange as quickly as possible. I wore a 34DD and my doctor said I had a lot of extra skin. I am hoping to get back to a full C or D cup. Reading this forum, you really understand how different we each are with our anatomy.
