Someone wrote that they loved PEANUT Butter......
I found something about 3 months ago that both hubby and I love.....it is called PB2.....is is powered peanuts that by adding water you've got peanut butter.....and 85% less fat calories....for 2T of PB2 it is only 45 calories.
I make Pad Thai with PB2 and Miracle noodles (zero calories).....mmmmm noodles and peanut sauce! Groupon and Amazon both sell PB2 and PB2 with chocolate (can you say peanut butter cup!)

"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and a richness to life that nothing else can bring."
Oscar Wilde -
Totally love the graphics Teka -- as usual. All are hilarious but I really chuckled much harder at the middle one. First time I've seen it and it was reminiscent of all the times we 'looked' for "arms" when building snowmen.
The PB2 sounds really interesting. I think I spied it in the store one day and not having much time I did not investigate fully -- but I am a huge, huge fan of p-nut butter. The Nutritionist that I take classes from has said that the Almond Butter ( which you could make yourself easily she says at home ) is so much better for you than P-nut butter. Mainly the additives in most p-nut butter -- along with calories is the concern. It comes down to just about everything though. Not all the Almond butter is good -- meaning the most expensive ( and boy is it ) is generally a lot better.
Dh and I tried it and keep a jar but using it is interspersed with our regular p-nut butter due to price and also due to the fact that it has a bit of a different consistency. It is a bit more difficult to get spread over your toast etc. but for the nutritional value worth the mild aggravation. Now that I know how the PB2 works I may be adding some to the menu here. I'm all for saving calories in good ways.
Blondie I only seem smart now and then. I'm not at all sure about that adjective in relation to myself. After I arrived back home here where I was born and raised, and went through the shock and pain of losing and burying my Mother -- I started REALLY questioning life and its many different meanings. The basic result was that I spent many yrs. studying spirituality -- that is where my 'heart' questions kept leading me. I'm sure I've only barely scratched the surface in all these years. In the last few years I have not had the time, energy, or funds to continue to pursue these studies nearly as much as I'd like.
I guess the basic thing is --- I'm personally convinced of the things that I found -- which are often hard to relate to others as if you can't FEEL it, you may not get it. That does not make me more than anyone else or for that matter less. Each unique child of God ( whether they wish to see themselves that way or not, and that is perfectly fine as well ) will come into what they NEED to focus on in this life. My focus just happened to be spiritual issues.
We are all wonderful, unique individuals who seldom do REAL wrong ( it is in the intent, not so much the action ) but do make plenty of mistakes. If you have a loving heart, and are willing to go through your journey on Earth, and love ( whomever ) created you -- you are going to be just fine. We have some of the greatest power ever felt or known but are most of the times unable to 'reach' it -- part of being here so often -- but we are all loving energy. We are great human beings.
Well, there you go -- mouthy spouting off again. I really don't feel smart -- just dedicated to finding 'answers' to my spiritual questions.
Off to do what I can before I go out to feed the ferals. A steel-cut oatmeal breakfast will be in my morning future too. See you all later.
Blessings

Jackie, a steel-cut oatmeal breakfast was a part of my day, too. I "doctor" my bowl of oatmeal until it's quite delicious. First, I partially cook up a batch of oatmeal, 3 or 4 cups of water to 1 cup of oatmeal, depending on the brand you use. Then each morning I spoon out a portion into a bowl, heat it up in the microwave at which time it finishes cooking. Add a tsp of real butter, a T of Splenda brown sugar blend, a splash of real half and half or fat-free. Sprinkle some roasted walnuts on top. Yum. Yum. It tastes pretty good and sticks with me a while. That's my goal for breakfast--eat or drink (smoothie) something that sticks with me so that I'm not hungry in an hour and a half.
Teka, those cartoons are really cute. They made me smile.
Today has been a gorgeous day. I played golf with two nice golfing friends. We were bundled up at first since it was in the 40's. But not windy. Before long, I had shed my jacket.
Now I'm home and feeling relaxed and lazy. There are things I could get done but I may just do the minimum.
Blondie, sure hope you get over the shingles soon if not sooner.
Hi to everyone. Hope the MIA ladies like Cammi are doing well.

More on coincidences: Today my friend Pam friend picked me up to go to lunch and I was telling her that my friend Thelma (our clown Mimi) had come to San Antonio last week from Iowa. Pam is from Iowa too. Thelma said she was from Mt. Pleasant but I didn't know until today that Pam is also from Mt. Pleasant. Oh my goodness! Another coincidence.
Thelma, my friend Pam is a Boal. Her family has had a farm (dairy I think) that's been in the family for over 150 years. Mt. Pleasant can't be that big. Any chance you know some Boals?

I cook my steel cut oats in a crockpot on low for 4 hours: 4 cups water, 1 cup raisins, 1 cup steel cut oats. Then I transfer it to a rubbermaid container and put it in the frig, and every morning fill my bowl, add a tablespoon of peanut butter, microwave it for 90 seconds, and then add a handful of frozen blueberries (I freeze them in the summer when they're on sale fresh) and add a little milk. The peanut butter adds a little protein and gives an awesome taste.
-
The "good oatmeal" recipes sound great. I tend to put stuff in mine as well. I get the Splenda brown sugar to sweeten mine as well as putting in a dab of Smart Balance Butter. I crumble walnuts into mine as well, along with raisins. -- guess it is usually whatever is on hand here is what might go in. Carole, my Nutritionist is very 'fond' of walnuts -- feels they are as good as almonds -- in fact, a mite better she thinks. She did say to watch out for "dried" fruit -- it has a lot of sugars I think. Well, anytime I'm not sure I hold back a bit. The tbsp. of p-nut butter sounds like something I definitely should try since I am a p-nut butter lover. Puff, blueberries are very high on my Nutritionists' list as well.
I'm all about food pretty much since your body works so poorly if you don't put in any for a while. Did anyone say they used an Aldi store. We have one and I get a lot of stuff from the store. They have a lot of produce and fresh fruits and their prices for many things is quite a bit better.

Peanut butter in the oatmeal sounds tasty. I would never have thought of that addition. Blueberries sounds good, too.

Hi everyone, remember me the one who cn't type or spell according to one very well known person who has a name ike a car.
Sandra I love u'r avatar, I hope u feel as good as it looks.
Welcome to the newbies--this is a great place so I hope u get back here often. A wonderful group of ladies who know a lot about so much (not me) but everyone else does and fun too.
I didn't ketchup on all the posts, sorry---I can't say I'm to to busy with work, but I know I'm getting lazier, but I am getting lots of calls and can't understand a lot of them as usual, yes Chevy even with the speaker on--some people are just un-understandable--is that a word? Well it is now.
Jackie u always say the perfect thing to everyone, what a kindhearted person u are.
Teka all that snow? U must be way up north, like across the street from Canada.
Carole I see u'r all snuggled in for thr winter, yea right u'r winter ha let Teka talk to u abot winter. And it's ben in the 30's here, I know Jackie will say it's much warmer in IL but not here. U sound good Carole.
We're celebrating one side of the family Christmas this Sat. cuz some of them will be in FL--we about 40 people so I might bring a 3 bean salad which Teka was nice enough to share with me. I never know from day to day what I should do but don't LOL
Joey is actually doing better with the clarinet, the dog doesn't howl anymore but the cat runs like hell. And he loves walking behind me still playing the theme from Jaws-it always gets me, he's not ready to give it up yet, cuz his parents tell him OH u've gotten so much better, oh yea--his squeeking is down, but let's face it he has no talent for music, he's tone deaf. See how parents lie to their kid, not me I tell him if he really doesn't like it to tell them so now he loves it.--Brat--I sound terrible but u all know how I am. SoChevy don't judge me, Miss Pole dancer, I don't judge you. Well at least not one on one. But I know u'r sleeping now.
Oh wow I'm tired, OK I hope to be back soon. And everyone is doing well or better at least.

Just dropping in to say hi. I've been under the weather - but finally was diagnosed with multiple pulmonary embolisms and anemia. It's the pits, but knowing what is wrong is the first step to recovery.
Hubby now is giving me two shots a day and I can walk across the room without feeling like I'm going to pass out - which is a pleasant change after the last couple of months, and tomorrow I pick up an iron supplement for the anemia. Anyway, hi to all. Happy late Thanksgiving and a merry early Christmas. I'm going to bed now (for the third time - hope it works this time....
I hope everyone is doing well.

-
Hey all, checking in, shingles r still there but fiing awa but will active 4 about. Still under quarantine 4 another week maybe more
Pet scan is back alsobones stable so dancing with the stable boy, lungs are another question, plureal effusion.
-
What did she say? The dog is playing the Clarinet? And the cat is tone-deaf? The Clarinet? Well, maybe better than getting that kid a drum-set! That's what they got my Brother when he was about 5... And that was about 70 years ago, and that guy is STILL playing the drums! But he is famous for that, just like I am with the Pole! Ha, ha!
Just been so down with Asthma & Bronchitis... got a lot of "stuff" to take care of it, and now I think DH is getting that sore throat that mine started out with. Now THAT is serious! I mean seriously gals.... When men get sick, man, they are in the throes of everlasting complaining....
I just go do the Nebulizer, spray that Inhaler, do those nasal rinses, nose sprays, take those pills, without nary a complaint... That means I would rather be sick than my Husband.... It must be a virus going around... we usually don't catch anything from each other... but not this time. (Cough-cough)
Blondie, you have the Shingles still? That's just awful.... I've heard they are soooooo painful! I won't complain about my stuff anymore....
Cammi, I'm so happy for you going out to parties! Just like old times, eh? Are you the one bringing the weed? And the Jamieson, like in school?
EYE know! Wear your black poodle skirt, and your saddle-oxfords with the rolled down socks! xoxo

We all share beauty. It strikes us indiscriminately. There is no end to beauty for the person who is aware. Even the cracks between the sidewalk contain geometric patterns of amazing beauty. If we take pictures of them and blow up the photographs, we realize we walk on beauty every day, even when things seem ugly around us.
Matthew Fox -
Oh my, lots to catch up on here. Sweet Cammi -- great to see you. We really miss your teasing cheerfulness when you are under the weather or busy with your job. Your party ( early ) sounds fantastic. Sometimes I think it would be so great to spread the holiday out a bit more -- but really -- I look on every day God lets me live as a rather special holiday ( since after dx. and txs. ) so I am not the one to say because it is spread out for me in that way.
GG -- can I say WOW here!!!!! You must have been TRULY draggin'. Multiple embolisms plus anemia seems like an awful lot together -- in fact, it sounds like a huge amt. separately. I sure hope your meds and txs get you picked back up and feeling better -- sooner rather than later. I know the iron will take a bit. Good vibes and positive energies are coming your way.
Blessings
Jackie
( got to run to work now, but I'll be back ). -
*Good Morning*

So far 20 inches of heavy snow with no electricity since last evening, but lucky to have a generator!

Our backyard.
Generator is red in 1st photo!
-
Oh my gosh, Teka! That's a lot of snow! I'll be real generous today and just let you keep it in NY. Wow! How long does it usually take after a storm like this to regain power?
Well, this clutz did a really stupid thing yesterday. I was hurrying to get ready to get in the car and drive 2 hours to a funeral and the curling iron slipped out of my hand and landed on my cheek on its way to the cabinet. I have an aloe plant and put aloe on it right away. I pulled over to a McDonald's about 1 mile down the road and got a cup of coffee and a cup of ice which I kept on it the rest of the way. I have a nice brown mark on my cheek today and sure hope it doesn't leave a scar. I've been trying to keep it moist with antibiotic cream. It really looks bad. I realize that we've all been through much worse and it's nothing in the grand scheme of things but I sure don't want a scar. That will teach me to take more time. Gosh, you can't let me near any dangerous toys anymore! :-)
I still haven't got my car back. I think I'll call this afternoon and see how work is progressing on it.
Hi cami....so good to hear from you. You and Chevy give us a good chuckle when you get going!
Come back more often! -
Power just came back on.
Nothing worse than a burn!
-
Teka yay, that is alot of snow
Hso when it was just the generator what worked, what is the temp? R u going out
Yep still dealing with the shingles, if it comes back i know what the deal is. Mo said another week, it is getting there
Happy Thursday
Rita being a clutz isnt so bad, take care of ur face.
-
Rita, Good luck with the burn. I ironed my arm once, used the ice all day and it didn't leave a scar. It did contribute to my dislike of ironing.
Teka, Glad you got your power back - and that you had a generator. That is a lot of snow. I hope your area has good snowplows.
-
Rita, hope your burn heals quickly, sure don't want a scar on your face
Teka, glad your power is back on, so far we've avoided any of those big snows but I know my turn is coming
-
Yikes, Rita, it hurt to hear about your curling iron accident.
The snow is gorgeous, Teka. Glad your power is back on.
We had another lovely day, though a bit cool. I think the high was low 60's. It was sunny all day. I went to the gym with dh this morning. Did some grocery shopping for my mother and took her to her hair apptment. Later went back to the same supermarket to pick up a few things for us. Now I'm sitting in my comfortable chair and feeling drowsy. That was my day! No complaints.
Hope you feel your best soon, Chevy.
Hi to everyone.
-
Okay, after a long day I am back. Had to do all the morning chores here -- Dh had a bout of intestinal flu type behaviors around 2 a.m. -- so from then until I awoke and got up this morning he kept a path open to the master bathroom. After that, I went to work until 1 p.m. Then went and picked up my no longer driving friend ( she kept me going thru chemo and txs. and never let me even much think of quitting like I wanted too a couple of times ) so when she says she needs something --- I'm there quick as I can get there. Was helping her from !p.m. to 5 p.m. --- we had a quick sandwich and glass of wine and I got home about 5:50 p.m. Put away a couple of things, then got the dog dishes filled and went out and fed them. Heated up a cup of coffee and headed in here to the computer. I'm bushed.
Teka -- brrrr. and so glad you have that generator. I do like snow, but that is just a bit much for one snowfall. I'm sure glad you have your power on once more. Hope you and Dh don't have to go out if you don't want too.
Rita -- some days it would be nice just to stay in bed, huh !!!! I too hope you can get by without a scar. We all get by if we have them, but then I'm thinking most of mine are nowhere near my face. I do think cold does a lot for burns -- in fact, it will take some of the burn sensations totally away. Also I'm thinking some moisture would be good too. I know some people would hesitate with this remedy but I've had good luck with Preparation H . Sure hope it will come out fine. I have an instant on curling iron and I never turn it any higher than 4. It will go up to ten but at that level of heat you start taking it out the minute you have your curl completed.
Carole -- 60 sounds like a heat wave here though the past couple of days have not been so bad. It is mainly ok as it is only gray -- no rain or snow -- but I'm hoping for a full day of sun tomorrow. This gray just has to go -- please.
Well, I'm going to finish up here -- get into pj's and toss myself in my recliner. I'm a little pooped. I didn't work that hard -- it is just too many gray days in a row.
See you all in the morning.
Blessings
Jackie

GardenGumby, I've been wondering where you were. Several of you Seattle area girls have been MIA lately. Multiple pulmonary embolisms!!! Your illness is frightening! Did they hospitalize you? Are you on blood thinners? Then anemia on top of that. Oh dear. Hope you are better soon. Di has been battling anemia too. Something in the water up there?
Rita, sounds like you are doing everything you can to prevent a scar from your burn. I've burned by forehead and ear before while using a curling iron, but yours sounds really painful.
Teak, look at that snow! It's so pretty. Of course just a single flake here in San Antonio and the whole city would shut down.

My daughter is going to be driving home from Chicago next week so I'm praying she gets decent weather.
Busy day here too. With my final surgery coming up next week and my daughter due in from Chicago, housework plus all Christmas preparations have to be done early. I scrubbed walls, baseboards and floors, took the Christmas cards I finished last night to the post office, cleaned out the fridge and washed all the Tupperware, and started wrapping Christmas gifts. The floor in the laundry room was still wet and as I passed through to go to the garage, I slipped and did a nice octopus imitation as I hit the floor...all my considerable weight on my knee. Don't think there was any great damage done. All that fat comes in handy sometimes. My back is unhappy from all the airborne contortions I did to try to stop the fall so I'll baby it a bit tonight and take a Valium to relax the muscles. I'm now settled in the recliner with the prerequisite kitty and blanket, ready to dive into one of the books next to my chair.
Blondie, hope you get some relief from your shingles soon. With everything else you have going on, you have to catch a break! I know you must be miserable. Cammi, we miss you. Post more often. We count on you and Chevy to keep us laughing. Chevy, your kitty with the bent ear is cute. Hope you are feeling better soon too.
-
-
Yeah, I was draggin - still am to be honest, but getting better slowly - at least I can walk across the room now. Our trip to Costco today was a bit of a challenge, but I figure I best keep movin. I do wish I knew what caused the anemia. I'm fairly certain the letrozole caused the blood clots, but since this is my third episode with them, I'm afeared they are gonna put me on rat poisin permanently.
Right now it's just the shots, then the doctor visits - you know, the same old same old.
-
Gentle hugs, GG.
