GmaFoley, of course you are welcome here. I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your beautiful Tigger. I have lost a few in my 60 years and I understand the grief that follows these losses. It is so difficult and the silence is deafening sometimes. You had 15 years with your little girl and be thankful for that, but I know it is never enough. Grief can become crippling, so please know it is okay to come here anytime and share stories about your girl. It helps so much.
Reaching out with big healing hugs to you. Again, I am so sorry.
glennie great job reuniting puppy with his owners. There are so many dangers out there for a puppy wandering around alone. Hopefully they will keep a close eye on Snorkel and see if they can find his escape route!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Have a wonderful day, and hug those furkids!!!

I don't think our furbabies leave us once they are gone. I feel that they stay around to make sure that we don't forget them, especially if the bond that existed between us and them was very strong. Could have sworn that while I was busy in the kitchen a bit ago and Princess was tagging along as my little shadow that I heard Charcoal's collar jingle. I know it wasn't Princess because she doesn't have one yet (still a bit on the tiny side).
-
What happened with puppy Snorkel was that her mom answered the door and let a friend in,, and did not realize that Snorkel had slipped out! He only weighs 4 pounds! So now she knows when she answers the door to be aware of where the puppy is. She finally found a collar to fit his little neck too, so now he has to get used to a leash. And he has been microchipped.Gma and mommyof2,,, hope you both are doing ok today. It's hard losing a furbaby.
-
Doing better, the pain of having lost Charcoal is starting to edge off. Still miss him though.
Princess is being so cuat. Hubby is relaxing on the couch and she's sitting on his foot.
-
Hope you all have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.
-
Big hug to you. I donation in the name Furbaby will be made to a local shelter.
-
Tigger was found in a dumpster as a pup and was rescued. We got her shortly after - shaved and with mange. They said she was a cocker/dachshund mix and her hair would grow back within 18 months. Never did. Boy were they wrong LOL - Whippet/Chinese crested. She had a great 15 years with us.. I miss her but have comfort from all the things you all have said and knowing she is not suffering anymore.
-
Happy Thanksgiving. I know our furbabies are with us even if they aren't - if you know what I mean.
-
Love the pics! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. And yes, I do believe they are with us. -
I know exactly what you mean gmaFoley. Thank you for sharing her pic with us. What a cutie!
SlowDeep...love the pictures of your dogs helping celebrate Thanksgiving. They are so patient wearing their hats! Beautiful dogs!
Happy Thanksgiving to all, enjoy the day with family and all those fur kids!
-
Princess's first Thanksgiving was a success. Gave her and the dog a few small bites of turkey (no skin attached) which they gobbled up in quick order.
Felt like her big brother Charcoal was still here with us, too.
-
I'm just back from my LD Flap surgery...my 2nd attempt to get boobs. I've missed a lot on here. I want to welcome all the new dog, cat and other fuzzy lovers to this wonderful thread and I wish to send my condolences for the friends we have lost. I love those costume pics! I just want to wish everyone a comfortable, healthy and what the heck, I'm throwing in wealthy, holiday season from me Wilhelm the Ham Man, Raven Roo, Pretty Miss Speckles, Princess Frankie and Anna Anna Bo Banna.
-
Warrior I love your pet names! I used to be more ambitious and creative with names. I had two llamas when I lived in Wyoming. Young people didn't quite get the male name....Fernando. Fernando Llama! His pasture mate was Dolly Llama! I love it. I always said if they bred (never did) and had a male I would name him Lorenzo Llama!
I hope your surgery is a success and you recover quickly. Healing hugs to you.
Mommyof2 I am happy your 'kidz' enjoyed the holiday. Turkey is meant to be shared! I am sure feeling Charcoal's presence was so comforting. I have a black male cat, Pistol. Her is a doll, a brat cat, his nickname is 'shitty kitty'. LOL. We try to keep him indoors but we always let him out when we are working in the back yard. Now we let him out back on our terms, not his. When he wants out he can be a real pain. Then we scold him and tell him that he is having a 'shitty kitty fitty'. Hehehehehehe.
-
lol
I call Princess that when she is being naughty "Princess Pain in the Butt". Otherwise she is Princess Kitty, Little Girl, Baby Girl. Hubby likes to call her "Little Shit" when he catches her being naughty.
-
ww - wishing you completely uneventful healing. Happy Thanksgiving to all the fur babies and their parents! I love the llama's names!
-
Welcome back WW. Hope all went well for you. Wishing you quick healing and a successful surgery.
Love reading about all the fur babies.
Mommy, so good to see you happy with your new kitty.
justme, those weren't my dogs. haha....my two knuckleheads would never stand still for party hats and picture posing at the same time.
-
She has brightened up this house in the last week.
-
SlowDeep I realized that after I had posted it. I looked again and realized my brain damage had kicked in LOL! Still a cute picture. -
GmaFoley: Oh my gosh, Tigger is so cute! I hope nobody is offended when I say to you that yes, I am sure you are hearing her and God will send you another to love when your heart is ready. We just lost Bentley in October and the pain is unbearable; our comfort is that we know we will be with him and his brothers again one day.
Flaviarose: Your Mastiff's are SO BEAUTIFUL! Watching them on the Westminster we always thought, wow that is a big dog but let me tell you, we volunteered at a local shelter and two Mastiff's were rescued - they are not big, they are HUGE if you have never stood next to one!!!! Certainly a gentle giant!
Mommyof2: So very sorry for your loss. Seven or eight years ago we lost two main coons within weeks of each other and we were so heartbroken we said no more kitties; they were almost 16 and very much a part of our lives. Anyway.......even with three golden retrievers our home seemed so empty without our kitties that we ended up adoptin four from the rescue center!!!!!!!
-
here is Ava, two years ago with Santa. She was staring intently at a cookie.
-
Thanksgiving and the holidays are so hard. Drop food on the floor and no furbaby to clean it up for me. Then realized that the door I always let her out in the morning (we used to go greet the deer in the front yard and throw them a treat) hasn't been opened since she passed. I saw the deer out there this morning and decided it's time to give them their treat, even if I don't let Tigger out. They are very happy of that decision. They aren't my pets, but they are part of a peaceful existence on our mountain top.
-
How lovely that you get to see deer every day. I know it's hard to continue that without Tigger. ((Gma))
-
Love the deer. Sorry about Tigger.
Ava is such a doll baby. I want to drive to Florida right now and give her a squeeze. She looks so squeezable!
-
She gives good kisses. If you sit on the couch, she will climb up next to you and use your lap as a pillow. -
GmaFoley - So sorry about Tigger. We have had to say goodbye to several cats over the years. It's never easy, even when you're prepared. We have very similar visitors to our yard, but we have never fed them. They do like to find goodies to munch on from our compost pile though. Here's the latest one to come to the buffet:
-
Princess has learned to give kisses! Yesterday she was being such a goofy girl, I was on the computer and she wanted attention and I was just doing my thing. The little booger laid down on my chest and wouldn't move!
-
Pesky kitty! Love that about them. She is a lucky girl.
-
Now she's playing run around and then attack my slippers
-
WOW - you have a buck too! They are gorgeous! I know people have their reasons for hunting but I just could NEVER. I love animals so very much - I know if I had to hunt my own food, I WOULD STARVE!
-
I have a question about what I can do, A man brings his new
puppy that is not trained into Starbucks and everyone thinks
that its so cute! But it wants to play and come after Faith, I
say leave it to faith and he still thinks its funny. My problem
is its not a service dog and I almost have to leave, He thinks
its funny. How would you handle this?
