Slow...hope you and Kath are safe......on the East Coast we are hearing and seeing all the rain, and the bad news about floods, rock slides, and mud slides......stay safe............looks like Ca. is getting hit hard........hugs
-
Praying for all my friends in California.
-
I'm not sure where all of the California ladies live, but the areas experiencing mudslides are mainly where the fires were. Slow and I should be okay. Not sure where Kath lives though.
-
Poppy did not realize you were from Ca..........glad you and Slow will be ok, at least it seems so according to what your saying............Kath is not too far from Slow.............Good........

A slide from the San Gabriels (mountains) came pretty near my neighborhood once, but that was years before i lived here. It's called silverlake where I live. Kinda between Hollywood and Glendale. Pasadena is further away past glendale. Downtown la is about 5 minutes away. It is the areas that have burned that are the most dangerous, theres nothing to anchor the hillsides. The angle of repose is so steep on many of the hills in los angeles. They have these things called debris flows
that are really a kind of mudslide but more worrying) and they have built basins in the hillsides that they have to clean out regularly after storms, huge boulders, mud, trees and other stuff end up in them. they are usually buit above where houses are, to protect them. Its pretty interesting. I am soooo happy its raining! I love it! And we need it so badly! And i get to wear scarves and hats!
-
No problems on my plateau.
We haven't had any major fires right above us, so I don't think there is much chance of a slide.
-
i think everybody is gonna be okay, then!

-
Blondie, Hope you get some relief from the shingles. Sounds so painful. And a blown tv on top of it all... the cats sound like fine entertainment. Wish I could have cats....but 4 out of 5 of us are highly allergic.
-
Blondie,, so sorry to hear about the shingles! I hope you are not having much pain. Did they put you on an anti-viral right away? Hope you get the TV soon! -
Hope this makes you smile, Blondie. Here's Ava with Santa, 2 years ago. She was staring quite intently at a cookie that I was holding behind the photographer's head.
-
Edited to add: Love the picture glennie!!
-
oh slow
I love it
And it's sooo true
-
I knew you would appreciate it!!
You should hear my family when they are together.
You can't hear yourself think.
-
(((Blondie))) oh my gosh - sending gentle hugs and prayers your way. What a bummer.
I hope you can get comfortable...Am reading back...missed a week again...I just fall asleep every night. I cannot seem to get anything done that I need to do.
It's almost the week end...
Just read back...Slow, love the tree...nice work! It was sad reading about the pets...our kitty passed a few years ago and our house is so quiet. I especially miss her in the winter when she used to keep my lap warm every night. We did not get another because we work every day and are not home much. I do think about adopting though. We travel a lot...does anyone travel with a cat?
Nice to see more "down under" ladies here. I would love to visit...I have relatives in New Zealand. They left Newfoundland and sailed around Africa to start a lumber mill there. I don't like flying either...but maybe some day.
Ducky, so sorry about your iPad not being compatible with posting here. It is so frustrating. Don't give up...maybe ask for a small laptop for Christmas from you kids! With Windows...
I am hoping that the Arimidex works better for you...how many years have you been on total? It's 3 for me on Femara. I always feel like when I get to 5 years they will tell me to take it forever so I am not anticipating a celebration.FK - miss you and hope you are doing OK.
-
thanks everybody I'm OK no they didn't give me anything initially I called around and colleges and he ordered me something cuz he's worried that I'm going to have it for a long time because my immune system is depressed. Didn't get the TV yet Michael will need to go in his room and watches TV tonight so I just laid in there and slept. Jamie did some running around for me I need to go food shopping though going to have to give her a list I feel bad that she's pregnant and has 3 kids.
sure did make me smile thank you and the kittens making me smile the other one is still, I still didn't pick a name I think it's going to be together though looks like the tiger but its got a black nose like tigger whatever alright guys take care

Joan,
We have travelled before with Charcoal and our dog Jackson. Up until this summer when we went to see family in the Mid-Atlantic area, we had a problem with Jackson getting sick all over his crate not long after we would start the trip. This year we tried something different, we brought his crate but just put a sheet over one of the seats and let him lay on it. Needless to say with us having done that on the trip down and then on the trip back, he never got sick!
-
a lot of action here last nite

Oh blondie, I wish I lived closer to you – I would go grocery shopping for you!!

Joan811, we did take our cat lumpy to the beach house with us. one time he got brave enough to follow us to the beach, and then walked up to the first sand dune and froze! I laughed, because i bet he was freaked out by the biggest bowl of water he ever saw, next to the biggest kitty litter box that he had ever seen! We had to walk him back.
