Nodules in lungs.
Before my first surgery in April I had a Pet/CT scan, which showed one nodule in a lung. It was 3mm. My MO said not to worry.
Now I have pneumonia as a complication from mastectomy three weeks ago and yesterday they did a quick CT scan of lungs. This scan showed "nodules up to 4mm", it didnt say how many. Infections doctor said it cannot be from pneumonia. She also says benign tumors cannot grow this fast, from April to November.
I am so scared that I cant breath. I have 1 year old and 2 year old waiting for me at home.
Do I have hope? How much it is for triple negative after stage IV?

What did they say the next steps are to determine if it is cancer or not?
I know how paralyzing with fear it can be when we have young ones. I have a scan on Wednesday that I am very fearful of. I want to just crawl under a rock and pretend this isn't happening damn it.

I had one that grew from nothing to 1 cm in the same amount of time. Nothing was visible in October 2012 (I read the CT scans myself) but it suddenly appeared in my May 2013 CT scan.
Multiple lesions are usually concerning but I can't see how your doctor can be so definitive especially since you've had pneumonia, which very often causes similar nodules.
Chances are they'll scan you again in another 2 months to see if they change but they might not biopsy them now because they are too small. Did you have neoadjuvant chemo?
My nodule turned out to be benign (confirmed by a PET scan) and has disappeared, so yes, benign nodules can grow quickly.

Hi Cherry. They must be able to compare your scans to see if the nodule is in the same place. The one you had was 3 mm and the new one(s) are "up to 4 mm" so I don't understand why your doctor said it was growing fast. Maybe it is just the same nodule, unchanged, and a few more due to pneumonia?
Thinking of you and hope you get an answer soon.

thank you for prayers, my dear sisters!
My MO thinks I shouldnt panic and should just wait and have another CT scan in few months and then we shall see. But to my great relieve she doesnt seem worried at all.

Seems like we've all had nodules in the lung at one time or another - and it doesn't bother the m.o.'s just all the other docs - they come and go and sometimes stay - they watch them forever and then they either stay the same or disappear - I've had pneumonia twice in my life and they appear shortly afterwards but for now only one just sitting there for last three years - try not to worry. Sending hugs,. S.
