DCIS in both breasts and really confused after double mastectomy

Hello everyone, new on the sight posted once when I found out. Was wondering if anyone can answer a question that I'm not sure of.... sorry new and a little aggravated by my BS . I was diagnosed August 5th after countless mammograms biopsies and finally the MRI report which BS sent me for. I found a lump in left breast axillary area so because I have very dense breasts did MRI . Had a bad feeling about it in general. I went for test results and was told 3 lumps in left and 4 in right breast that was a SHOCKER. Biopsies on 4 of them. Said I have DCIS in both breasts and scheduled double mastectomy done October 21st with TE placement. Problem is my surgeon never gave me results or seen me after double mastectomy only the plastic surgeon did. Surgeons office said I have to wait for results till November 25th although results have been in. Went for my first expansion fill Monday asked my PS for results wouldn't tell me said he didn't receive them. Is this even possible? ? I love my plastic surgeon and am assuming the BS has to give results, has anyone had to wait this LONG? ?

Sorry my post is long. Just getting more annoyed and scared. Plus the lovely pain from expanders. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for letting me vent.

    I agree with the other two posters. These are YOUR results and you deserve to have them! I would march right in to that surgeon's office and say you want a copy of YOUR pathology report immediately and that waiting until the 25th is not an option! You PAID, not them...get these results today so you are not in limbo. Hugs and best of luck to you.

    Thank you everyone for the answers, I made a phone call and was told if he had time he would call me back. I basically flipped out on his receptionist, who then informed me he doesn't give results over the phone. So now my wonderful boyfriend is taking me to his office without an appointment and hopefully I'll get some answers. Thanks for the advice again.God Bless everyone on this sight!     Well tomorrow late afternoon will finally get results. Hate this waiting game! We did go to Drs office the other day, funny how Dr wasn't there and receptionist wouldn't do anything. Thanks everyone for listening!

    Lynne, just like everyone else here, I am horrified and so sorry you were put through this, by this insensitive jerk and his equally dim receptionist.

    I think everyone here would agree, the waiting is just brutal! Anyone in this position of power who would make you wait all this time, for your final results, is downright cruel and out of touch.

    If it were me, I would not be letting him off lightly, I have a name for these men, they're not Doctors, they're Dicktors and they work FOR you! Tell him you didn't appreciate this wait, for something that should have been expedited to you as soon as it was humanly possible.

    Phew, but this makes me so mad, when I hear this stuff. Rant over!

    Lynne, good lord. It's a miracle you are not running screaming through the streets.

    Go to the medical records office of your hospital. Bring lots of ID with you. There may be a small fee. You will walk out of there with all of your info. Get surgical reports too. I walked out of my old hospital (Penn) with everything, even a tiny sample of my actual tumor!

    I hope you are completely done with that BS. In fact, ask your PS for a name of a BS he loves. Should you ever need one for any reason (I know that we both have an mx and we probably won't, but sometimes there are other biopsies), you'll have a new one. And it will just make you feel better.

    Thank you everyone! FINALLY got results ( after a month) Told my dear BS I will be finding another Dr as his waiting game was unrealistic and drove me crazy! Glad to say that report was good no chemotherapy or radiation. DCIS/LCIS all in all started with 7 tumors and ended up finding a total of 9 . All clean margins very relieved. Thanks everyone for listening and all your support. Just trying to get used to the tissue expanders .

    Sorry you had to wait so long but your final report is great news !! We both got lucky with not having to go thru chemo or radiation :). The tissue expanders are very uncomfortable... Just got my last fill last week I can finally sleep on my side. Good luck to you
