Spanish anyone? I cannot interpret my results - IDC for sure

Hi,

You have all been so helpful so far, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and good will. I am quite alone out here in Mexico. I am hoping someone on the boards speaks Spanish and can help me. I do pretty well with it normally, but I think my report is so badly written. I guess maybe I need to call the pathologist on Monday with a translator, but it would be nice to get some clarity before then.

I think I have IDC for sure. What's not clear is whether I also have tubular carcinoma, or is that just the Spanish way of saying cancer in the duct? And I think it says no mucinous component seen.

I don't have a breast surgeon or oncologist yet, and I am debating whether to have surgery here or in the U.S. For sure, I am calling Dr. Ansanelli in NY Monday.

    I think it's saying I have infiltrating tubular carcinoma and you can forget the rest of it but will verify tomorrow or Monday. My brain is fried.

    Yup, it sounds like a mixture of idc and dcis (intraductal), which is not unusual.

    Often you don't get the complete picture regarding staging etc until after surgery, or maybe with more imaging ...

    Try to get some sleep. All will be revealed in the fullness of time.

    Disclaimer: I don't actually speak Spanish, but medical terms are largely Latin in origin!

    unspecified invasive tubular cancer with no evidence of mucus and DCIS is how I understand it but it could be IDC nOTDCIS....

    Path reports are not always easy to understand, even in English, so don't fault your Spanish! Have you posted this on the Spanish language forums?

    on the other thread you spelled "mucoso" differently. Again, it appears that you have tubular invasive BC, which is usually classified as a rare favorable breast cancer. Not sure why they mention no mucin....unless they initially thought there was a mucinous component.

    Voracious, I spelled it wrong twice, go figure. It was late, and I was pretty upset. It is "mucinoso". And, yes, that is not a component, so I don't know why they mentioned it either. Maybe it is often found with tubular.

    Thanks for pointing out the error. I'll get it right when I post to the Spanish boards. I am exhausted today but calmer.
