So this is a feel good story from NZ. The Kitten Inn takes in orphaned, unwanted kittens, pregnant cats, etc. And here's their post from today:In the early hours of this morning (3am to be precise) I was awoken by someone knockin on my door. Now I hav always thought that anyone knockin on your door at that time must be desperately in need of help so I quickly got up to see who it was.
To my horror I discovered a rough lookin bearded man covered it tattoos hammerin at my door. His size could quite easily of been compared to a mountain he was that big. In all honesty I was debatin whether to call the police until out of his jacket he pulled this tiny little kitten and asked me if I would take care of it. He told me how him and his mates had been out drinkin and these young girls were passin this wee kitten around like it was a toy and so had taken it off them.
As he passed the kitten over to me his eyes welled up with tears, I looked at him and thought 'Love comes in many shapes and sizes, and what you might see on the outside doesn't dictate what's goin on in the inside'.I asked for his name but he said some of his mates wouldn't understand his love of cats and so wanted to remain nameless, he did however give me $100 to go towards the little kitty's care.

That's a beautiful story KiwiCatMom, I have no doubt that it is totally true. I worked as a bookkeeper for a vet for some years. He had spent some of his career in Australia. He told me he used to sometimes have big, muscular outback men come in with kittens or cats, with a degree of embarrassment and clearly with great love for their animals...when I saw this photo taken at a UK cat show a few months ago it put me in mind of the Australian farmers and I saved it. Here it is
