Clairabelle is ok with her coat but the tape ripping sound of the duct tape unnerves her. Hershel the goat has his own coat (not animal print tho) and he LOVES it. It is a goat coat! I moved the DGDs plastic playhouse inside the barn and he sleeps in that.
-
Lucy thank you for sharing the story of Izzy and your very close bond. They touch us heart and soul! I love little Clairabelle and her fashionable zebra jacket. Too cute. She is precious! -
I had to make one of the hardest choices in my life tonight when I had to put my cat Charcoal to sleep tonight due to kidney failure. I stayed in the room as he was taking his trip over the Rainbow Bridge tonight. My dog Jackson knew something was wrong the minute we came in the house and we didn't have his "brother" with us.
-
Mommyof2 I am so terribly sorry for your loss. It is the hardest thing we do in our lives. You released Charcoal from his pain and that was your final gift to him. Also staying with his as he crossed. Big hugs to you, again I am so sorry. -
Awwwwww, I'm so sorry
-
Oh so sorry M0mmyof2 - It is so hard to lose a friend. Thinking of you.
-
Im sorry You had to do that M0mmyof2 I had to do that before.
Faith is doing wonderful, But I am having more trouble with dogs
coming after her in the store, the stores are not doing anything
and one lady brought her dog in a stroller and had to hold its mouth shut
with is wrong cause it wanted to bite Faith. What would You do? I need
her more right now!
-
Thanks everyone. Jackson was great comfort last night to his mommy, slept right against mommy until I got up this morning.
Foot, let me give it some thought and get back to you.
-
M0mmyof2 you are a brave soul. So glad you were there for Charcoal. I donation to a local pet rescue will be made in Charocoal's name.
-
He would have liked that.
-
I'm 8 days post surgery and happy to report my 2 little boys are behaving well. They seem to understand they can't be on my lap right now.
-
Awwwwwwwww, poor furbabies.
-
I talk with some people in the stores and they are working on trying to get cards
to say that they are service, comfort or whatever need, and then if they are no coat
or reason, but how long will it be. til they can stop dogs from going after My dog. I love
her and she is so much help to me, and doing better since surgery. Hugs and pets to
all the wonderful animals here.

Just me, I too lost a dog at
a very young age. This is his replacement which we got 2 weeks after Louie tragically died. This is Henry, an English Mastiff. For anyone who knows the breed, they are incredibly devoted to their family, and very affectionate. Henry didn't leave my side the entire time I went through chemo. And, I had to be petting him, if I took my hand away, he'd nudge me, he so needs that closeness and attention. We say he is the black hole of attention, he never can get enough. -
Awwwww look at that pet me face!!!!!! He's a sweetie!!! How much does he weigh
-
What a sweet face!!
-
flavia Louie is absolutely gorgeous. I love that sweet soulful face. I am glad he was there for you when you were undergoing treatment. Animals never cease to amaze me, they understand so much. Hugs to you both.
-
I adopted a shelter rescue dog 1 month before diagnosis. Louie is a full bred Maltese bundle of pure joy who follows me everywhere like a shadow. I often say that St. Francis sent him to me at just the right time. He was only 4 pounds when we got him and was just 4 months old. Louie sleeps on a pillow on the floor next to my bed and I can see him watching me all nite if he is not sleeping. Before him we had a Bichon named Pearl who lived to age 18. She went thru the family trauma of a severe house fire. The girls were 12 and 10 at the time. Pearl also gave much comfort to the family.
Animals are truly God's gift to us all. -
Henry weighs about 160 lbs. As mastiffs go, he is a small one. We also have a female, Melody, who eats the food that Henry leaves behind and she weighs 200lbs!
and another picture of Henry
-
His head is bigger than all of Spookie!!!!LOL
I always had mid size dogs till her, but I love them all.
Beach lady, pics please! Is Louie in full coat? Was he from a puppy mill bust in Fl
-
Henry is adorable!I did a puppy rescue today! Came home from errands and saw the neighbors' new puppy running around. I figured they are out in the yard, I'll walk over as I had something to give them. Pup ran to me then ran to door, which was shut. Weird,,, if they were outside,,door would be open with screen,,,, but they weren't. I grabbed Puppy and rang the doorbell. She didn't know he had gotten out when she answered the door earlier!! So it was a puppy rescue.
At least he knows where he lives, cuz he ran to his own door as if trying to get in.
oh yeah,, and puppy's name is Snorkel. How cute is that? I must get a picture of him.
-
Glennie the Dog Rescuer!!! Yay!!!!!
Yes, pics please!!!!

I hope I can join you all. Saturday, I my wonderful Furbaby, Tigger, died in my arms peacefully at 15 years old. She was a crazy hairless wonder. Used up all of her 9 lives (we think she thought she was a cat) . She was my companion during my trials with breast cancer. She also was the one who alerted me to my lump. She never gave me grief, only snuggles and licks. She loved chasing the turkeys on the mountain and laying in the sun, with her legs spread out belly on the dirt. She loved licks of my diet coke off my mug and loved DH's jelly bean treats. I know she is up chasing the turkeys, free of pain and just having a good old party with all the other pets.. I will miss my crazy mutt. I loved her dearly. Thank you, Tigger for being there for me..
This last few days have been real hard without her. I keep hearing her collar jingle and the bed that she used to lay on squeaking. She must be telling me she is ok... I know God will send me another furbaby when it is the right time.
-
AaawwwwGma. So sorry to hear this
-
OH,Gma,, I am so sorry to hear this. Tigger is running free over the Rainbow Bridge and is in no pain now. She will be waiting for you on the other side. -
gma - so sorry for your loss. May Tigger's memories help heal your heart.
-
Gma, so sorry for your loss. Tigger is probably playing with my Charcoal kitty on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
I swear I still hear Charcoal's collar jingling from time to time and I still hear his meows.
Got some good news to cheer everyone up. Princess has finally stopped hissing at Jackson. Up til yesterday, every time she saw her dog brother, she would hiss at him. He would just look at her as if to say "Give it up already, I'm not going to hurt you." Hubby and I both got a laugh last night when the dog was waiting for me to take him out for the last time and she walked right up to him and started sniffing his fur and he just stood there. She backed up briefly and then walked right back up to him and did it again. This morning they came down together when we got up!
-
I love it when they finally decide they are ok with each other.
-
Me too, makes the house much more quiet
-
Many years ago I was cleaning out a house we had just purchased. I was in the side yard and I saw a small dog out of the corner of my eye. I went around the corner to investigate but the dog was gone. A couple times when I was in the backyard I would hear jingling, like the sound tags make on a collar, but nothing was there. When we cleaned out the garage we found a lovely black and white photo of a precious little dog. That picture still hangs in my daughter's room.
