When do hot flashes stop?????
I am 30 yrs old. I was dx in April 2014. Started AC/T chemo in May & finished my last chemo 9/23/14. I started having hot flashes in August. Can anyone please tell me when these god awful hot flashes go away? Or if there is anything I can do to ease them. I am a sleep deprived, sweaty, emotional mess.

Deena, are you on any medication now? I am on Anastrozole and one of the side effects is hot flashes. My Onco put me on Venlafaxine (an anti-depressant) that curbs those hot flashes. I asked what it would do to me if I didn't need an anti-depressant and he said nothing, but it does help with the hot flashes. I have heard alot of women on these boards use the anti-depressant for hot flashes.

I was coming here tonight to ask this SAME question!!! OH MY WORD!
I did four rounds of Taxotere and Cytoxin. I had my last treatment on July 17th. The hot flashes were constant and sometimes my husband would time their frequency. By the first week of September I realized I was down to having only one or two a day.
But then on Sept 12 I had my BMX. The hot flashes, alternating with the chills, started the morning after my surgery. I'm now 4 1/2 weeks out from surgery. My husband has been timing things again. I will get the chills then 4-6 minutes later comes the hot flash, only to be followed by the chills again 10-15 minutes later. I might feel back to normal for 1/2 hour or so, only to start the whole cycle again. The chills feel like when I'm feverish. I have woken up in the middle of the night, buried under blankets but shivering. Take my temperature before doing anything else only to find I'm running around 96.8.
Its about to drive me crazy.

Sorry my hot flashes started in 1996 chemo induced and I stilll get them now all these years later, I am sure that is not normal tho, lol -
I started taking Effexor 25mg once a day. My hot flashes completely stopped after 3 days and haven't been back since. It's amazing
