Gosh Ganz, I'm glad you got them out. Waiting along with you for those results, and hoping they'll be reassuring.

I'm doing fine, Ganz - Just itchy and sensitive from the rads, but that's just silly stuff-- nothing important.

I am doing good.  Blood clots are slowly resolving.

Milaandra, So wonderful to hear this report from you! Every day I've been debating about whether to send you or not a PM just to let you know you're on my mind and I care and hoping things are OK-- But didn't want to oppress you or make you feel pushed to answer if you felt like being silent. Great to hear that you've been sitting up sewing and that you're going to make it to that dress-up dinner you so want to get to. Yay! Some fun! Can't wait to see those pics!

The spinal rads will certainly NOT be fun, I do understand that! But I'm glad your docs are getting moving on your further therapy (and they so kindly fit it in around your planned fun) Here's hoping those rads zap those spine mets into NED!!

Mandy, what if anything are you taking to relieve you of the discomfort of the clots? I had a second ultrasound last chemo session and they told me the clot in my arm had lessened but the clot in my jugular was as big as before. They said I was in no danger, and that eventually my body will make a new path around the clot.

My neck is swollen on both sides and under my chin, so to hear my body will make a new path IN THE FUTURE is driving me crazy! I am on the blood thinner so at least I am not making new clots, and using heat to try and help with breaking up the ones I have. I am pretty depressed that I will have to put up with this discomfort because of the port until it is removed a year from now!

What a fabulous little getaway! We arrived later than I wanted (still sewing), I was still sewing at the hotel and didn't get to complete everything, but in January I'll finish it all up properly, because I've decided I love the 1870's silhouette, no matter how much fabric and effort it takes. The hotel was in the countryside...an old manor house built up over the centuries from the central Norman tower (1199). Lovely place! Very warm and homey, with fires in all the fireplaces and candles burning everywhere. The rooms were beautifully renovated, too. The murder mystery was fun. Everyone put an effort into dressing up, and it was a great bunch of people. I was given a role...the daughter of character played one of the professional actors (who was about 25, by the way!) and two groups thought I was the murderer! Mind you, lots of people thought I was one of the actors, because my fake accent was so much better than the Scottish people trying to do a fake accent! LOL!! It was so funny to have a cowboy tell you "Nah, ye cannae go" :-D The dinner was perfectly prepared and presented, too. After, I got back into comfy clothes and there were a couple of performers in the main lounge, so we sat around with our event companions singing along with the performers. After a quiet night, we had a perfect Scottish breakfast and then drove home. Because we were so late, we didn't take photos properly and it was already dark. I'll try and post a couple that DH took, but the flash messes up the colour and sheen of the silk. (it was a dusty aquafawn/navy striped taffeta, but the flash makes it look like peacock blue satin) And you know what? I didn't think about cancer...

Milaandra, that amazing dress looks so good on you and you look so good in it!! I loved reading this wonderful report of your fun!! It sounds like such a great getaway! What did DH wear??

Ganzgirl, Hope you're healing up fine and feeling OK. Do you have a date for appointment to get path result or will they just call you when it gets in? Thinking of you, and with you in your waiting and so hoping the worries are proven wrong!

Thanks, girls! DH looked great...I bought him some square-toed natural leather cowboy boots on eBay, one of those caped oilskin coats from a charity shop, and he wore jeans, a civwar shirt in a fine red check and a dirty, beat-up Calgary hat.And a perfectly disreputable amount is stubble, of course. You could almost hear the cattle in the background...

Just had my first spine rad...four more to go...

Hi ladies, I am going to have another mammogram tomorrow to check out a lump on the side left. I have noticed that an area that I had checked out earlier was getting slightly bigger. For peace of mind I went to the family doctor and he is sending me for the test. Please keep your finger crossed for me.

Darn it Yes! But since those rotten things are there, I'm glad they're doing the biopsies. Hoping and hoping they turn out to be harmless bumps this time!
