Hi, everyone, just had the oncotype DX test done from my masectomy. I am early stage breast cancer and I am unsure if I will have to do Chemo yet. Has anyone had this test done and where did you fall on the scale? Advice would be helpful! Thanks in advance

Hit "search" and type in Oncotype.... You will see many threads devoted to the topic of Oncotype DX scores and ultimately what decisions many of the sisters made.

As you can see from my signature below, I had a score of 15 and did NOT do chemo. Good luck!

Furthermore, register on the NCCN's website and read the professionals version (red logo) of their 2014 breast cancer treatment guidelines. Also read the footnotes and read in the discussion section pages 100 and beyond regarding endocrine therapy.

Myscore was 16 and I did not do chemo. It only had a 2% reduction for recurrence. My MO said it would do more harm than good.

Testing was done even before my lumpectomy surgery using material from stereoscopic needle biopsy. My score was 11. No chemo, no serious discussion of chemo.

Mine was 11 with 8% chance of recurrence. 11 is a low score and my BC was Stage II, Grade 1 so my Oncologist said my treatment would be a lumpectomy, RADS and Tamoxifen. The choice is yours of course. Had I not had the test I might have done chemo.

My score was 23.  Chemo would lower my chances of recurrence by another 4% so even though I was a Stage 1 (Grade 3), I started chemo in October.  I will have 8 treatments over 6 months.

my score was 17 and chemo was not recommended for me. I'll be on tamoxifen. My tumor was highly hormone positive. I am going to focus on healthy diet and exercise too. Oh, and a baby aspirin every day. Good luck, I pray for peace and resolution for you.
