So I've kind of been in a funky mood all week anticipation and dread. And arguing with myself. Why? My birthday.

Part of me says yippee! You made it another year! Take that ca.!!!! The Eyeore side say, oh, another year.

I don't know if I wanted a big bash, but not what happened.had the grands yesterday, my bday. They were not good. I was so upset with them. DD, who was to bring the cake was pretty upset with them too, and didn't come over. I get that. They had been BAD!

But I still wanted my cake.

So if there is a next year, I'm going to take Spookie and run away for the day, maybe the night too. No grands, DD, DH

Does that sound like a plan

    Official: can't keep up!

Patty: furbaby is oh so cute, can't wait to see the other one too. So very adorable and pj's too

Chevy, your DD is beautiful, takes after her mama

Mommy, Charcoal's spirit is still around, he's trying to tell you he is now at peace, pain free and able to frolic and be playful like when he was little. I'd take it as a wonderful sign that he's trying to thank you for all the years of love you gave him.

Paws, hopefully the new breathing machine will help you get lots of good quality sleep so you can get some rest. Hopefully, your energy level will increase after some great sleep.

Nettie, enjoy it while you can

Spookiesmom, I relate! So something very special for yourself. Have had so many holidays and birthdays when I was told it would be special. Special isn't the word I'd use. Kind of scared what my next (big) birthday will be like.

Yikes I have a nickel size spot of ringworm on rib cage under right breast. Finally got rid of it on my cats. E HOW says I can kill it overnight with a bleach/water patch overnight. I hope I kill it tonight I wish bleach could wipe out the cancer. It is always something.

    Goodnight wish me luck

Hey Spookie! Guess what I got for my birthday this year?

Breast cancer. That's right, I had the mammo/ultrasound on my birthday, and my nurse friend was right there to tell me what it was. Then she took me out to lunch and laid it all out for me, what to do & what to expect. Then I got to go home & tell my family.

    Don't you love birthdays?

Spookie, I loved your line, "I still wanted my cake". I have been on a cake craze, I love cake & frosting. I bought a half of a pumpkin cake last week, ate the majority of it myself. imageMommy, sorry that you lost your beloved cat. That is so hard. They love & need us, and we do the same.

Chevy, DD looks so cute, & like you...

Meow, tape a disinfectant wipe on it.....yikes, sounds yucky.

2nd, Mags, Foots, Patty HOOTIE HOO Pepper, Nettie, Rose, Grandma Kathy, HELLO.....

Paw, good luck with the Cpap, or Crap gizmo.....looks difficult, I would like to hook DH up to one.....lol....

Mommy, Sorry to hear about Charcoal. We've had ghost kitties for a day or two before. It's just so empty without them. We now have 2 foster kitties who are finally learning to get along better.

Hey Badger, good to see ya....those cupcakes look tasty.....I am getting my appetite back, after 16 months post dx. I thought MO was going to lecture me last week about my weight, she usually scolds me for not gaining lbs. not a word. She must of known this cold weather was going to send me into a eating frenzy....

Cake being my # 1 favorite.

Magdalene51- that sucks to get diagnosed on your Birthday. I got mine diagnosed Dec 26th the day after Christmas. Glad it was the day after too. Sucked. The radiologist told me as I lay half dressed in the ultrasound room, dark and the machine humming. He was back lit standing in the doorway and I couldn't even make out his face. He said flippingly-" sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you have breast cancer. we see it all time and we'll order up a core biopsy to confirm... and pizza with olives." Asshole. I mean my husband and kids were out in the waiting room. You can't be dressed and have your family with you when they tell you this? See the person who is talking to you? Is that too much to ask? Miserable miserable experience. So I hear you.

Yes Spookiesmom take a Birthday by yourself and see something you have wanted to see! Have a Birthday of your own design maybe with a special desert place thrown in! Sometimes you just have to get up and go for it. That's what my Florida week was all about! I finally got to see what I wanted, experience a few things I have wanted to see for years. I just got crazy made the flight, booked the B&B and left. I didn't have to entertain kids, spouse, relatives zip. Sounds kind of selfish but most of my holidays are not very fun. Too many competing interests and kids -teens never want to see what parents want to see. This time I could take my time and enjoy.

Hi to everyone else out there. Love the cartoons, cute cakes and pet pictures. Be well and have fun.

The best I can do at the last minute---just eat a whole cake and remember it's always no calories for Birthdays.

I did not ketchup with everyone and I'm so sorry.

But when I read about charcoal I felt so sorry, I know how that is and its heartbreaking. I sleep with my Katie-Kat all the time, I said I would never get another cat after, but I did and I just love her, it's so hard.

Chevy u'r DD is beautiful, just who does she take after? BTW I love the way the store is decorated

Mags sorry this is going on forever and it just plain sucks, I know

Spookie u and u'r cast Oh boy, does anyone not break things here or hurt themselves somehow.

I don't know what I'm talking about now, I'm getting woozy and I looked at so many pics of cakes I want one of my own. And we have snow and it's cold and I don't like this. I was wrapped up in all these covers and I woke up and my one arm (my LE arm) felt so heavy and I couldn't move it and all of a sdden I see 2 little ears sticking out of the cover and snuggled in my arm---goofy cat, she didn't want to move.

Thanks everyone. Its been hard for me to get over this as it was another night of crying myself to sleep over Charcoal. The thing I miss the most about him was first thing in the morning before I got my coffee and after things calmed down from the early morning craziness was that I used to have a morning cuddle with Charcoal and as soon as I picked him up, he started purring. He loved being held like you would hold a baby.

I know getting another cat won't being back Charcoal but it might help with the loss.

Momom! I'm so sorry! I can't find where you "lost" him.... but I know how you feel...We had Lacee for just 11 years... felt as close to her or closer than even my two Daughter's.... But she got sick.... so slowly..... and we tried to fix her, and figure it out... but all they said is it was Addisons Disease or something....... Anyway, we finally helped her the only way we could... And I lost my little girl.

It's been since February, and every day I get that feeling in my heart... just thinking of something, and I just want to cry. Anyway.... and I'm just not ready for another little dog yet... I KNOW another one won't take her "place" but I just can't yet.

Someday, somehow, I just know another one will find it's way into our life.... when the time is right... When I can walk better...and when I know DH will accept someone else in his life.....

Was Charcoal a "rag-doll"? I know DD in Orlando has tamed a feral cat, and he likes to lay in your arms like that! They just go limp!

Spookie... Happy Birthday sweet friend! I just want to know why you are waiting until next year to escape? Can't you do it at any given time? Get away from them all... If THEY can't make you happy, or be a part of your Birthday, just take Spookie and pull a roadie on them all! You can be Thelma, and go get Sassy, and she will be Louise.... I live too far away for that stuff.... Only don't do the last part.

It's just 9 degrees now... still dark, and I'm not lovin' it. Even my coffee cools off too fast!

    Morning to everyone else...

Charcoal was a Domestic Short Hair. Out of the sun he looked all black with bits of white fur in spots, but in the sun his coat looked brown. I have decided that when I am ready for a new baby, I want another black kitty. These poor babies are usually passed up at shelters. Charcoal would have wanted another kitty like him to be brought into our loving home.

Mom,, when my heart dog was getting old, I used to cry while driving my bus, thinking how much I'd miss him. When he went to the Bridge, I thought I'd never make it home from the vets. But even before that, I knew I couldn't be dog-less. I so understand how you are feeling.

They mean so much to us, and ask so little.More sometimes than the humans in our lives.

Give yourself some time, and that will vary, and find another baby to love. Not replace, nobody can. I love Spookie, but she is like night and day from Vulfie. It wil happen

gm ladies. My mo gave me a script for gabapentin aka neurotin. I haven't started it yet. Anyone have any experience with this drug ?

Jwoo / love the pics. Keep them coming. When are you going home ?

2nd. Love the cake pic for spookie. Looks yummy indeed. Hope you are off to a good day.

Holeinone - let the eating frenzy begin!

Chevy - your dd is pretty indeed.

Mags - cancer dx for a birthday ? That sucks indeed. Boo

Mommy - cute pic of charcoal and bear bear. A new kitten would def keep your brain busy and less time to grieve. So glad to hear you will you a shelter to find a new black cat.

Rosevalley - and your dx the day after Christmas - ugh. That sucks indeed.

Spookie - happy belated bday. Sorry it wasn't wonderful. I agree with Chevy why wait Til next year. Just call a redo and pick a day next week to do it. You deserve to have your cake and eat it too.

Meow - I agree wish bleach killed cancer. Hope it helps with ringworm. Never heard of that treatment.

Hello to all I missed. Hope everyone has a pain free day.

    GM gain ladies.

Well it's still snowing and its going t get colder, yes colder like 0--WTF This is way to soon--It should be in January then it's just a couple of months, I think we're going to have a long winter--good thing I work from home or I'll call in sick almost every day and the weather will make it everyday. I always hated driving in the snow, scared the chit out of me, and I still worry about my kids driving around,

Well no shower today or yesterday so I stink, how's that for an enticing smell--But I have something new for u guys tomorrow. so get ready for some new smelling stuff.

Mo u'll know when it's right and we always have enough love in our hearts.

Spooky, the weather is ALways nice there! You could just take off and stay anywhere with little dog-face as long as you want.... And don't tell anybody where you are going.... except us...

mags - that cake looks divine.

Cami / stay inside and stay warm girl. Weather crazy this year already. We might get some snow tonight. Schools ready thinking about closing. All for a few flakes that they say no accumulation. So funny. I grew up in Illinois. Not many snow days. You just drive carefully left a lot earlier and always carried a blanket and extra change of clothes in car. Just in case. Crazy here people will clear the grocery store of milk and bread for flurries. Lol.
