worried about nipple issues

Options

I am almost 5 years from my IDC dx. But I have been having nipple discharge from my left (good) breast. Just went to BS last week and had ultrasound with no findings of anything wrong. She just said to come back if discharge started to be bloody. 2 days ago I noticed my right nipple ( cancer side) had what I would describe as a crack at the base of the nipple. It is red and sore to the touch. I go back tomorrow to the BS. I can't imagine that both nipple issues can be related! Of course I am worried about a recurrence or new cancer. It's so hard not to have my imagination run in a bad direction!

I'm not sure what will happen tomorrow. I am hoping she can do a bx of the area. Not sure an ultrasound or mammo will necessary pick up anything/everything. I am due for my yearly mammo 12/11.

Can BS get a sample of the discharge for analysis? When I went for my nipple biopsy, he tried to express discharge before doing the actual punch biopsy but failed to get anything. Paget's discharge does not have to be bloody, so not sure why BS told you to come back if bloody. I had Paget's and it did not show up on mammo, US or MRI. Only the biopsy showed it. A punch biopsy can be done in the office with just lidocaine to numb the area.
