worried about pestering my doctors.

Options

Since I have been out of active treatment (July 2 last radiation) I have had all kinds of little things have popped up. Bad reaction to letrozole/sever back pain/lymphedema/seromas/ongoing anxiety about recurrence. Etc. Having a place to ask questions means so much to me. Do you ladies ever feel like you are bothering or pestering the doctors. I am feeling like that. I know I should not. I have a good team but I feel that I should not bother them. Its like I am done now they have much sicker patients to treat but I feel that my concerns are important. My team really likes me I think because I am such a good "compliant patient". I don't ask to many questions and I am always apologizing to them for taking their time. I know its so stupid. I have never been sick like this before . all my issues they say are normal or leftover effects from chemo etc.. Etc...

I see my doctors when ever I am uncomfortable with something, and never, not once, that I thought I was pestering them. I doubt they think that either. They are in the profession to care and compassionate should be in their character. Don't wait, call/see them.

    Hi Jen,

I agree with fifthyear, unless you were constantly calling, which you don't sound like you are, I don't think you should be concerned about pestering your Doctors. Your concerns are genuine and that's what they are there for, after all.

You are in a great place here, for support and advice. It is sometimes a good thing to run things by the ladies here, if you have a concern, usually, you'll find lots of people who have experienced the same, or similar and if it isn't something serious that requires medical attention, you can often feel much better just knowing that others understand and validate what you're experiencing. It's all new stuff to get used to, we are all learning as we go along and you're never alone here.

I wish you all the very best!

Good morning.. this is one thing that always bothers me when patients feel like they are bothering their doctors. Please remember they work for you. You pay their salary. Each time you see them you pay for their services. Their job is to keep you well. You are not bothering them. I hope this doesnt sound too strong but its something I feel passionate about.

Good luck and I hope you are well.

Thank you ladies. I will speak up more to my doctors with my concerns. I am so glad that I have a place where women understand. I am a bit down with all this BC stuff. I am glad that I have this site. God bless all you ladies. Thank you for caring.

You're welcome Jen, always feel that you can ask anything here. There will always be someone around who has had a similar experience and we all know how comforting it is, to have someone who understands. We have all felt down and overwhelmed, but sharing always helps. Take it easy!
