Wednesday Weigh In

Up 1 to 130.5. Told DH to get Reeses Peanutbutter Cups for Halloween because I don't like them. He got enough candy for an army. Fortunately, most of it is stuff I don't like and I can take it to the shelter and senior center for sharing.
-
Down 2, it is a start
-
Up a pound to 155 - hmmm - that's up 2 weeks in a row, not a good sign. Have gotten back to exercising, and trying to control my intake of all those wonderful fall comfort foods. I will try to be good this week and hope to show the same weight or less.
-
Hmm, Pat01, when I gain while exercising, I always remember that muscle is heavier than fat, so no loss is normal
-
down one more!
-
I'm also down one.
-
Well, I gained those 2 lbs, so now you know where they went. I'm up to 132.5.
-
Down one as well
-
Very happy to report that I'm down 2 (no decimal in front of it either!). I guess exercising and not cheating on the diet DOES work!
-
Okay, coming back to try and keep on target and get this downward spiral moving. See ya next week.
-
Ok think I'll officially join all of you, lost 1 over the past week - 8 more to go to goal! I'm honestly right now just relieved that at least my work has halted the "tamoxifen 15" I was rapidly packing on. I have never gained weight this easily in my life. Ick.
-
Welcome floaton!
-
Down 1.5 to 131. Have yearly with PCP on 12/02 and would love to be in the 20's for that. Hard to do so close to thanksgiving tho.
-
Stayed the same
-
Same, but I'll take it!
Have a great week, everyone

Have been MIA awhile. My scale has been stalled to say the least. Starting out fresh at 136 and a goal to get rid of 5 pounds between now and April. I have found that a slow pace is best for me. If I lose it too quickly it comes right back. Will focus more on not eating after 6pm. That seems to work best for me and I really need to put my cell phone games aside and start moving more. Whose with me.
-
down 2 more.....I have been logging everything on loseit.com......and that (plus the exercise) works for me as long as I am honest and consistant (hard and hard!)
-
Another MIA here. I was down to 158 before dh and I went north to MN for the summer. Did fine during July and Aug. thanks to a lot of walking and biking and playing golf twice a week. Then Sept. did me in. We began moving around and visiting dh's relatives and did more eating out in restaurants. Came home about 166.5 at my highest.
Thanks to a bad health dx for dh (fatty liver), we've stopped drinking alcohol and are both watching our food intake. He has been told by his dr. lose weight. This morning I'm down to 161. My official WW goal weight is 160 but my unofficial goal is 155. Thanksgiving will be a challenge. More travel and eating in restaurants.
Doesn't it get tiresome putting on and taking off the same lbs?
-
Down .5 to 130.5.
Carole, You're so right. Losing those pounds is like housework - repetitious.
-
Down 2 lbs. Like ruthbru I'm posting daily on loseit.com and it does help. Expecting primary doc to tell me, tomorrow, that she suspects I'm pre-diabetic based on A1C numbers so need to drop at least 20 lbs, eat better and exercise more. Not looking to going into full-blown dabetes. so gotta do this.
-
Patoo, I have my annual general physical tomorrow too! The truth comes out, THAT is why we have both been being so good!
-
Yep, and it feels good to be committed.
-
You can do it, patoo!
I also recently had a check-up and reaped a big benefit from maintaining my weight: My onc told me I could delay having a scan until January because I was feeling well and not gaining weight. Any zaps I can spare myself from is a biggie. Then he told me I should take metformin if I have problems with excess holiday calories. As I don't want to be taking metformin, this is my signal to either lose preemptively or keep my jaw shut until January. As I don't think I can do the latter, I'll be weighing in again here, maybe even daily. Lol. I lost 100 grams since yesterday.
-
Thanks. Have no choice. Just diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Need to lose.
-
Patoo, My DD has had great results from limiting carbs. We're looking for low carb recipes for Thanksgiving.
-
Thanks Wren. Yes I am also driving myself nuts trying to figure out this new way of life. It will all come together. Thankfully(?) I'm on call Thanksgiving so will be home most of the day and not tempted by all kinds of food all day. Once I get it down it will be easier to make good choices in the long term.
-
Patoo, one of my aunts was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (interestingly she was also a BC survivor, so maybe there is a connection). She was 'pleasantly plump' and LOVED to bake all the different goodies we so all enjoy. Upon her diagnosis, she quit eating the goodies cold turkey (she must have had an iron will because she continued to bake them for her little, skinny husband and others too), lost enough weight so that she was in the low end of her correct BMI, and was able to ditch medications entirely. She lived to the ripe old age of 88 without any more problems with diabetics, or breast cancer either. So the good news is that Type 2 Diabetics really should respond well to weight loss and diet change. When you meet with a nutritionist, show him/her the loseit app. I think it could help you with your tracking. I know there is a 'premium' app that costs money. Maybe check out what the entails & see if that might be helpful as well.
-
Patoo, my sister also turned her diabetes around and could stop taking metformin eventually. Walking and watching her diet worked.
-
Still holding steady at 136.
-
Down 300 grams. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
