Surgery November 11

I have IDC, HER2 pos. I'm 37 years old. My bikateral mastectomy is in 3 days. They are doing the expanders and inserting the infusaport at the same time. I'm scared!

4 weeks after surgery I start chemo. ACTH 20 weeks. 20 freaking weeks! Does that sound normal?

I'm pretty new here and looking for support and friendship.

    Hello and welcome! I just want to tell you I hope your surgery goes really well. It is scary, I was petrified!! This was my first "real" surgery and it went well. The waiting was the hardest part but then you're in and the next thing you know, you're done! It truly wasn't as bad as I worried it would be. I didn't take much to the hospital with me but the best thing I bought was a zip up jacket with pockets inside (to hold a cell phone) then I just slipped the drains inside. Keep up on your pain meds and if you have a recliner at home, it will be your best friend. Take care of yourself, you're going to do great!! You might join the November surgery group, I'm part of the October group and it was a godsend. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
