What is false negative rate of bone scan

Options

Hi - I am 41 and was misdiagnosed 3 with metaplastic spindel cell BC.   I has been having bone pain in my shoulders and upper arm and both wrists for 3 weeks - it is at night and feels stiff or achy.  I had a bone scan that was read as negative and my alk phos is normal.  - can the bone scan be wrong - what's the false negative rate?  Should I request a whole body pet/CT?

I'm told the bone scan is very sensitive.  I had one recently (stabbing pain in my hips when standing) and, while it thankfully showed no mets, it did show arthritis basically everywhere that did not hurt.  Was your scan also negative for arthritis?  At any rate, as my hips showed up squeaky clean, they referred me to PT, which determined that my problem was plain old everyday bursitis.  After a couple of weeks, my pain went away and all was fine.

In other words, have you grilled your onc and/or pcp about arthritis and bursitis and tendonitis and any other stuff I haven't thought of?

Remember when a pain was just a pain? Those were the good old days.
