Hi Everybody , I'm new here and looking for someone with my dx . I was dx with IDC right breast, w/ another suspicious area also in the right breast and left breast . I had biopsies of the suspicious areas of right and left with lumpectomy and SLB right on 10/7/14. The path reports showed the suspicious  area of left was LCIS, and right DCIS, no lymphnode involvement. I have an appt on Monday to discuss further treatment options. I have heard of so many  people having several lumpectomies only to go on needing MX. Just wondering if I should elect that now and cut to the chase? I really don't want to keep on having surgery! Any imput would be very welcomed! Thanks

Hello kerker, so sorry you've had to join us here, but glad you found us! You'll find this to be a great place for support and advice. There will be others along to offer their experiences.

You will have read of some women who have had to have several Lx surgeries, to achieve clean margins and others who opted for a Umx or Bmx from the start. You will have the options given to you, when you meet with your Doctor on Monday. It is a very personal choice and can really only be made when all the options are laid out. Please don't feel pressured to do anything, that doesn't feel right for you. Most women here, will tell you they had a gut feeling about what was right for them.

Take your time, it can all be very overwhelming. I wish you all the very best.

Hi, I have DCIS Stage zero.  I had two operations on 3/13.  The margins had not cleared.  I went for radiation.  I could not take the meds because I can easily clot.  They tried another pill and I could hardly walk because of that medical condition.  No worries -- you really have nothing to worry about - per both surgeons.  They also informed me that I have LCIS in both breasts.  I went to two doctors in December last year. They thought I was being to aggressive.. I live in Florida - but - originally come from NY. So one doctor is in NY and the other in Florida.  I had my mammogram yesterday and now they have found four spots. { I proved those surgeons wrong.}  Two are on the left side of the breast and the other two on the other.  I am scheduled for biopsies next Wednesday.  I am in a panic.  I think I am going to have a double mastectomy.  I cannot not stand like living 6 month to 6 months.  I would love to know if anyone has any information for me.  I have been researching LASER ASSISTED IMMUNOTHERAPY which some doctors are doing now.

    hi Kay 2022

I'm sorry about your diagnosis but whatever you do, don't panic and make a decision out of fear. Take one day at a time and listen to your doctors (sounds like you did the right thing with a second opinion, so did I!) get all the facts and do your research. Having a double mastectomy doesn't mean your done, lots of recoup time and most of the time several more surgeries. This is all gonna be a new way of life for you, it's rarely every "over" you just learn to adapt .

I wish you luck and insight and love when you need it, these women are amazing here, peace to you. Please keep us informed  (hugs)
