Uterine Polyps

Well, two years before my BC diagnosis, I was dealing with pesky bleeding uterine polyps. The 2 years of Tamoxifen only made the problem worse.  As I went through menopause with the help of lupron injections, the team thought my uterus would settle down once I started an aromatase inhibitor.  No such luck!  I continue to have more D & C's than the average person gets teeth cleanings. Let's see...I had a D&C last November, this past June and again this week!  Doctor tells me an ablation is in my future....which is funny because when I mentioned an ablation earlier, they told me they usually don't do it on post menopausal women.  No one seems to want me to get rid of my uterus...but when is enough is enough???!!!  I've bleed for two weeks before my last polyp was removed in June and for 6 straight weeks afterwards.  Stopped bleeding for 10 days and was bleeding until YESTERDAY...when my latest polyp was removed.  Oy!  End of rant!

Holy dooly!  Can you demand that they take it out?  That is just way too much bleeding going on there!  Sure hope you can get them to see sense soon!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Chrissy....thanks for the tender hugs!  One of the reasons why they are opposed to removing my uterus is because, despite heavy bleeding and clotting, I'm not anemic.  They really think at some point my uterus will behave.  I'm shocked that they don't think the risks of putting me under light sedation so frequently, doesn't trump removing my uterus.  I let my second opinion doctor do my latest D & C.  Keeping my fingers crossed that her D&C was aggressive enough..... Hmmmmm.....

VR -  I do hope that this most recent d&c solves your bleeding issues. However, I want to point out that in addition to whatever possible risks associated with light sedation?  -  there is always the slight risk of perforation. I have my tonsils and 3 wisdom teeth - I don't take losing body parts lightly - but I have to say that my hysterectomy (endometrial cancer/tamoxifen)  this past January was a snap and I don't feel any different.

let me push in there with some hugs too.

thanks Jel!!! Glad you are doing well!!!  I really have to resolve this issue...and with regard to surgery...I'm a goddess in that department!!! Two major life saving emergency surgeries and all kinds of ortho... ENT...and other gyno surgeries too!  I work very hard at keeping this body together.  It just seems these pesky polyps are getting to the best of me...
