Hi everyone,

I'm starting a new topic today in this section after receiving final pathology report looking for some help. Although I received good news, I know now that I might be considered high risk and I want to ask the correct questions to my BS during my follow up appointment so any advice would be highly appreciated.

Basically I want now to know what I have to change to prevent any cancer in the future if that's even possible.

Here all my conditions.. multiple cysts in both breasts, fibroadenoma in right breast.. and recently a radial scar removed and surrounding breast tissue with sclerosing adenosis, usual ductal hyperplasia, columnar cell change, apocrine cysts and microcalcifications.

I knew about radial scar and hyperplasia but anything else is new for me and I'm just wondering after all these pathologies showed up how much the risk if any.

Thanks for your advice.

All of these  are considered benign; I think radial scar is the only one that raises your risk, and even that is only slightly. (so in the absence of any other significant risk factors, you would not be considered high risk).   I would just remain vigilant with your yearly mammos, do monthly self exams, and try to maintain a healthy weight, exercise, good diet, no smoking, and alcohol in moderation.
