Yay Angel! Our little family is getting 'approved'  all over the place!  :)

Angel, PT is going to be great for you, I just know it!  Laughing about the I'mheretoo large dog story.  I did not take a nap Sunday -- I worked pretty hard on the whole motherhood/housework thing.  XXX

Hi ladies..ally so glad to hear they approved your surgery ! My oophorectomy is about 2 weeks away and I m getting nervous about it. Not really nervous about the surgery itself ..Im nervous about after, being forced into menopause. Ive heard some horror stories about the hot sweats, night sweats, loss of sex drive, weight gain and other stuff. Any input about this experience would be greatly appreciated. Im probably just being paranoid and worry about stuff that may not happen to me but of course I allow my stupid brain to get a hold of me sometimes lol

    Sunflower...do you take magnesium?

Quilti...brrrr! And people laugh at me when I tell them we moved to Scotland for the weather...only Canadians really get it!

I'mheretoo...I forgot to send your last email to my home email...doh!

I'm just back from my MRI and my surgeon looked at it right away and called me to say there were no surprises so surgery is still on for tomorrow. I'm first on the schedule. I keep hearing great things about this guy, so let's hope I don't bring down his stats! LOL

    Can't help it...I'm a big chicken!

Oh, and no, I haven't heard from my oncologist.

So what does everyone think about the controversy about taking antioxidants during treatment?

Milandra, not sure about antioxidants during treatment, but wanted to write and let you know I'm in the bag for tomorrow!  Wish I could be there to help.  Hugs to you.

Milaandra,   Yay for surgeon looking at scan result right away!    I told you he's a great guy--- Docs that do things right away (even answering patients' e-mail ) are magical in the surgery room.    Super YAY for no surprises on scan!!!!!      Try to relax!   The surgery will go GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

    Ooof for the oncologist, though.

Now you got me distracted reading about antioxidants during cancer therapy and I forgot to post this!    Hope you're sleeping now (sleep sleep!!!!) and so won't even see my good wishes to you for an easy surgery.

Angelfaith, Great that you'll be starting PT next week!     Sure hope it helps!

Quilt, Yikes, snow!     Guess I should stop complaining that our odd heat streak stopped and it's feeling almost like Autumn here.     I'm still shivering here, though.

Ganz, looks like you and Ally will be going through all that great stuff together.    My early menopause was the natural, and hence gradual kind, so my telling you that I didn't really suffer for hot flashes isn't really relevent for you.

DH was on back shift so I had to wait up.

Do a little search on magnesium and high blood pressure.

They've got me on 1000mg of tylenol and 30 mg of codeine and I'm taking it! (Estimated four days) The left side is very like sciatica  and deep muscle pain, with some muscle pain from the incision sites. The surgeon was happy with how it went and the physiotherapist was impressed that I was going for little walks around the halls, so I suppose that's all good. And they decided to kick me out yesterday, but I had to wait until DH's shift ended, since his vacation leave started today. Sitting in the car was awful! This one won't be two weeks and back to work! There! Moaning over!

Poor Milandra!  So sorry you are in pain!  Here's hoping you get the right mix of pain meds.  It's just terrible to be in pain after surgery!  I am glad you are out -- I always worry about infection in the hospital.

Sunflower, you are so clever! You know how to cross out 'jealous'!  :)

Guess what?  I have a surgery date.  Surprise!  I have had something like 1,000 surgeries this year.  December 19th (although I'm trying to get into the 15th).  I've got to be back on my feet immediately to be cheerful for Christmas.

    Well, I am a basket case.  :)

They are rebuilding the gouge that they made in my side when they had to carve out an infection, Millandra.  It was last New Year's eve.  It's pretty horrible.  I don't believe it will look that great in the end, but at least I will not be able to see my heart beating.  It's been pretty bad, but I just try to keep things moving forward... hope your pain is better!

Milaandra, hope you can get a good nights sleep tonight to help with the healing!.   (Boy, I sound fixated with sleep!    But I just want you to heal up and feel fine!!!)

Bobogirl, Oh boy- another one. How's your recovery from the one you just had going?

Still no word from Lipglossmommie, eh? I'm concerned. Last time she even checked in with us while still in hospital.

    I love my marshmallow hug!

Two weeks out of sx, Imstillhere.  It's disappointing because just as I feel better, I have another sx.  It's starting to get really hard.  I am more anxious now with the third one (of these surgeries -- I have had many  more than three total), but I am trying to stay cool and believe this is the last one.

I am worried about lipgloss mommie too, and hope she is out of the hospital.

Bobo hugs to you ((((o))))....I am 2 weeks away from my next surgery and I am more nervous about this one than I was about the bmx.  Has anyone else had an oopherectomy before going into menopause ? I have so many questions about what happens after..SE's from being forced into menopause. I would love to hear from anyone that's gone thru what I am about to go thru. Happy halloween :)

I can't help you with that as I'm going through natural menopause during all this, and my sister had her uterus removed quite young but kept her ovaries. How old are you again?

I believe our Ganzgirl is forty.  I am forty-four.  Instant menopause at 42 (but without ooph).  Everyone is different.  But I would come out swinging, Ganz.  You might have some hot flashes.  It was a real challenge for me.  Not as bad as some of the things I have gone through.  But it's really something.

I see you had node dissection.  So maybe no acupuncture.  I am so cautious of LE.  But I would, as best you can, come out swinging: yoga, massage (an expense, but makes a difference), meditation.  Cut down to one coffee a day.  I see you have some hormone positivity.  There is no way in heck they would permit you to take HRT (nor would I take it, actually).  Stay hydrated.  Green tea and green juices.  Just do all you can.  In the moment, sometimes I wanted to hide.  Plus I was tired.  But I would recommend that you line yourself up these appointments and put yourself first.  I am giving you marshmallow hug. XXOOO
