Teka- yes, my sister is a huge bird lover and always wanted to go to this place. She has never been here during the fall/winter when the wintering birds are here so when I suggested it, she was really excited and the others are too. The cranes have this very unusual sound they make- very primal. We love the sandhill cranes here.
Blondie- oh I saw the special on PBS that he had with Bozz Scaggs and Donald Fagen (of the Steely Dan fame). I would have LOVED to see those three together. They all still sound so good. The music of my time. Yes, jeans to most concerts but not for this one. Photo opps galore! I hope you are feeling better at the end of this weekend too.
Cami, Lil, Mags, Maiden, Bippy, Monis, Onco, and everyone else here, may you have a good week.
-
Jazzy sterly dan is another one of my favorite bands along with the Eagles, the rest is motown, now i have to go to utube n find some SD Videos
-
Blondie- this is for you. One of my favorite MM videos, Heart to Heart with Kenny Loggins. Love to him too.
-
You are going to love this video. Bozz Scaggs has such a pure voice. Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald on keyboards.
-
Hello again. Things in my world have been crazy lately but I do stop by now and then to keep up. My favorite Bozz Scaggs

I wish, but no!

Whew- long day and not done yet. Got something I need to write up tonight to give to the new PM for the start up project. I spent two hours with her today and she picked my brain the entire time. My brain feels tired! Lots of meetings tomorrow.
Good morning at personal training. I did something with my upper body and core I could not do at all a month ago. Now I can do it and do it well. I also discovered how strong my legs are today compared to when I began two months ago. Now we are working to bring up the cardio/core work to get burning the fat and excess weight off. That danged fat.
Joann- welcome back. I love that Bozz Scaggs song too!
Teka- how beautiful. It will be sad to see fall leave.
Onco- our sandhill cranes migrate down from Idaho, so they tell us. I am not sure but they may band them and follow their migration. They seem to know our hummingbirds (now gone) go to Costa Rica for the winter too. I would like to go with them too, to CR that is!
I hope everyone survived monday. How are our friends going through chemo doing?
-
Damn i hate when that happens
Anyway like i was saying
I just spent the last 2 hours watching videos, mostly of teddy pendergrass, marvin gaye n boz, should have gone to the boys of summer.
Happy almost Tuesday
-
Blondie- oh Teddy Pendergrass and Marvin Gaye.
-
Blondie- do you remember this from the mid 1980s? Always one of my favorites with Teddy and Whitney. Really nice arrangement and beautiful vocals. Nice fan video remembering these two.

Somehow this thread lost its link on my favorites (one problem with an iPad is, if your finger twitches, there's no predicting the results) and I was having such a bad weekend that I didn't realize it until now. It's been big D with all the cramping fun. Taken more lomotil than I have since round 3. It just won't stop.
I've read everything but my chemo brain isn't actually processing anything. So it may be another week before I can comment intelligently. I can't believe I actually wanted to have this last round. What was I thinking? Oh, right.
-
Thinking of you Mags ... Hope the big D and cramps stop PDQ.
My iPad and IPhone stopped sharing iMessages yesterday. Being annoyed by the snafu, I spent many hours trying to fix the situation. I am not sure I fixed it and am disgusted at myself for letting it take up the day. I should have been working on bulb planting.
Thinking of you all ... Wishing everyone a happy, unexpected something today.
-
Not in a good mood here today after having seen my oncologist. According to her, I'll never finish treatment! Feel like I'm doing nothing but living from one appointment to the next!
-
Mags and MO,
-
Sally,
I always look forward to Spring blooms after a long frigid Winter. Get busy bulb planting!
-
MOmmy, sorry to hear onc's comment. You are in my thoughts.
Teka, I too always look forward to spring flowers. Last year's bulbs rotted ... I plan to plant carefully and water only sparingly when we don't get snow or rain for a long time.
-
Thanks guys. Don't know what to do right now about this. I feel like crying at this point.
-
Crocuses, are my 1st Spring blooms!
-
MO, but no recurrence or metastasis?
-
Nope. Just a few spots on the lungs that are so tiny they can't test them to see if they are cancer or not. The recent CT Scan they did showed no sign of the cancer having spread to any other place, just about a half dozen spots on the lungs
-
Yes, that would keep me worked up, but the few tiny spots may have always been on the lungs!
-
mommy it may be your Herceptin status that makes her say that? Can you contact her and ask for clarification?
-
Everytime my hubby or I try to find out how much longer this is going to go on, we never get the same answers twice. This has been going on now for over a year. The only thing she says that is consistent is that from time to time I can have a break from treatment and even if the spots go away or get smaller according to her I'll be on this crap the rest of my life.
Everything I have read in accordance to Herception point to that one year of treatment is the optimal time period of treatment before it loses its effectiveness. The thing that ticks me off about this is that it she comes off as if its more important for her to keep me on treatment so that the insurance money keeps rolling in and that she isn't so concerned that this drug can damage my heart.
-
MO,
I doubt so insurance money keeps rolling in----------------
Have a copy of Surgical Pathology Report?
___________________________________________________
The following was taken from Dr. Susan Love from on-line.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
What is lymphovascular invasion? How does it differ from having positive nodes? And how does it affect my treatment choices?
When
a pathologist examines tissue removed during a lumpectomy or
mastectomy, one of the things she looks to see is whether cancer cells
are present in any of the blood vessels or lymphatic vessels. If they
are, it is referred to as vascular invasion, lymphatic invasion, or
lymphovascular invasion (LVI).
A woman can have lymphovascular
invasion but not have positive lymph nodes. This could be because the
invasion hasn't spread to the lymph nodes or because it has bypassed the
nodes and moved on to other areas of the body.
When LVI is
present, doctors assume this means that the cancer has acquired the
genetic mutation it needs to create its own blood vessels, a process
called angiogenesis. Because a tumor that has the ability to create its
own blood vessels may have already begun to spread cancer cells to other
parts of the body, the presence of LVI is an indicator that treatment
should most likely include chemotherapy or hormone therapy (if the tumor
is hormone sensitive).__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
If you no longer feel in the loop with present MO, maybe time to get a 2nd opinion!
*Hugs*

MOmmy, I see you joined in June of this year . I was diagnosed June of this year and was told I would never be cured . I've finished 6 rounds of Adriamycin and Cytoxin , and am now taking Tamoxifen awaiting an appointment Friday with an oncological surgeon..I feel like I'm just waiting as well. I'm on FMLA. Right now but I'm still afraid of losing my job or not being able to do the same job again. I'm the one who pays the mortgage in our family, I pay most of the bills. It's scary. The good news for me was I responded well to treatment . I started with right breast plus one node, T spine, iiliac and a 3.9 x3.9 cm on my liver. After treatment everything has resolved except the liver spot but it too has been reduced to 1.9 cm. I am so thankful . I pray that the Surgeon at Emory can do an ablation. I had to have a MUGA scan prior to my treatment to see if my heart was strong enough for treatment. The thought that the treatment may have damaged my heart is scary. I'm getting an injection once a month to strengthen my bones and I'm not sure what the affects it will have on the rest of me. I pray you get answers to your questions. This is my first response on the board, sorry for being all over the place.
