Thank you all for the good wishes. Keep your fingers crossed that Squeakers improves. He is FIV+ so his immune system isn't the best.

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue.  Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge.  Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time.  It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up.

Great morning here -- its cool.  It will warm to almost 80 though, and I will have to do what yard work I can today and tomorrow because we will get rain from all our warm weather.  So, so nice though.  I think maybe it is our little taste of Indian summer.  Cleaned all the deck furniture yesterday and will try to get it into the shed today.  It makes cleaning the deck much easier when it is gone.  Also cleaned out the dog pen for the first of what will be several times until all the leaves get off those trees.    Doing Fall clean-up on two acres is an on-going project for a few weeks.

I don't know who Squeakers is either, but I'm feeling it is a precious kitty.   Thinking about you and your fur baby and hoping that things will be ok at present.

Joan, I bet your area is really pretty with Fall colors.  I don't LOVE the cold weather, but through the years I've found parts to enjoy.  Of course, for me now the big things are staying warm enough while I'm out and staying upright depending on what condition the ground may be in at the time.  Otherwise -- its pretty ok with me.

Hope you all are going to have a beautiful Sunday.

    Blessings

    Jackie

Squeakers is one of our foster cats. We fostered him until he was adopted 2 years ago. When the adopter couldn't keep him anymore, she returned him to the shelter and we picked him up to foster again. He is black, comes when he's called and is absolutely crazy for feather toys. He is FIV positive which means his immune system is impaired and getting sick  is more dangerous. Our other foster cat, Goldie, is finally starting to tolerate him although it's still a little iffy.

Chevy, Thanks for posting the link. She's an awesome woman who continually thinks outside the box. I don't know about you, but I probably have stuff from the 60's and 70's that I could experiment with.

Chevy - fascinating article.  It would be fun to be part of one of the "back in time" studies.

Morning gals...  Yes Minus, I read the whole thing...  I wonder if it really DOES make a difference....  It's like mind over matter....  I believe it would maybe help SOME people who are more open to change, and are willing to "go along" with it... but you couldn't take someone like my Husband, and think he would go along with that...

But you know, it it helps SOME people, that's all that matters!   I'm going to try and see if I can make this leg better, by taking 2 Aleve EVERY morning, and using my cane more, and walking STRAIGHT, and seeing if that makes a difference in my limp.  I figure if I THINK I can get it better, then I WILL!  And one day I will not even notice it hurts when I walk,   & maybe it won't!    We can't help getting "older".... It's just "feeling" like it.... Ha!

Don’t let the opinions of other people determine the image you have of yourself.  There is no need to feel either appreciated or understood.  Be even-minded.  What you think about yourself is everything.  What others think about you has no value at all, unless you choose to give it value.

I don't mind getting older, as long as I never really have to grow up.  It was a very interesting article -- I recall that quote that says something like you are what you eat  --  and it makes me think -- what you really think, and perhaps the opinions of society, along with what the "standard" seems to be now -- likely tends to influence us even if we don't notice it much.  We are expected to PLAY the game and go along with things -- and we don't always really have too.

Sometimes ( at the end of a long, hard day it is very much not true ) I think I don't feel a lot of pain and upset because I just don't give it the chance very much to take hold.  I have things to do and needs that have to be met and so --- I keep my mind focused on "other" things most of the time -- like my goal for the day.  I don't know if that has helped me, but I sure don't think it has hurt me.  If I do rough things ( working most of the day with a lot of yard cleaning, raking nuts, blowing leaves, stacking yard ornaments and deck furniture to be stored for the winter -- than I am dragging and sore and just sort of done in.  Have to leave enough umph to get us dome dinner.  Likely ( another hard day today ) that will be frozen burritos which I do love.

    See you all later then,

    Blessings

    Jackie

Chevy, sorry to hear about your leg hurting.  I hear you about the getting older part.

The last few nights the insomnia of getting older has been a visitor.  Maybe a little garden clean-up time will help me fall asleep tonight.  I had a fun weekend with some DGK activities, so I was surprised when falling asleep was difficult.  Maybe I am like a little kid ... too much activity causing problems falling asleep.

WOW Jackie, today's quote is one I need to heed.  It hits home with me ... has been a problem forever.  I like frozen burritis too.  Do you make your own? ... and then freeze them.

Happy Monday everyone.  My goal this week is to get the daffodil and crocus bulbs planted.  Oh, and to continue cleaning out my file drawer.  Jackie's post reminded me to set goals.

Gorgeous picture.  Carole, I worked in my yard most of the day -- I'm bushed too.  Progress was small -- so much wind out that we had to be careful which way we directed the leaves.  Maybe we'll both be bushy-tailed for Tuesday.  Fingers crossed.
