Hello,
I'm a newbie to this thread-- in 10 days, I'll be through with my rads. Yes, I'll still have months and months of Herceptin but finally after a really long year, I'm starting to feel like myself again. Which brings me to why I'm here. I have IBC, was found to be allergic to Taxotere (after my sodium level tanked and I I was in the ICU), had surgical issues, and finally an uneventful (almost finished) series of rads. In other words IBC has consumed my life for a year and I don't known how to start adjusting to my new normal.
I'd appreciate any advice. I feel somewhat lost -- sort the reverse sense of loss I felt when first DXed.
Thanks,
bride

Ducky!! So great to see you!!!
Kathe, "even the blanket is unhappy" hahahahahahaha...that's too funny.
bride, Welcome to this thread. Jo is our Queen and she's been kind enough to let me stick around. You will love these ladies - they are all awesome.
Congratulations on almost being finished with rads. I'm typically not an emotional person, but at the end of rads I was a basket case. I was about ready to ship myself to the looney bin. With some suggestions from some very helpful women on these boards, I started to feel better. If you get to that point, please feel free to send me a PM, and I will give you the name of a couple of books that really helped me. From what I understand, it's perfectly normal to feel a bit funky at the end of radiation.
Thinking of you Poppy and cheering you on to the end of chemo.
-
Welcome Bride - Sorry you have to be a part of this group but glad you are here. I escaped chemo and can't imagine how bad it was. Rads on the other hand is something I do know. How to adjust to your new normal? Take it one day at a time because that is what it is going to take. Ask all the questions you have and throw anything you want into the bonfire. The bonfire is magical and makes you feel so much better. Give it a try. You can throw in all the medical bills, the treatments, any person who was not kind to you, anything. We are all here to support you.
Ducky - It is about damn time you showed up. I know, you just wanted your picture on a milk carton. LOL!
-
Welcome bride
Ducky thanks 4 showing up
-
Ducky!!! I knew as soon as you made it on the milk carton you would give yourself up! wasn't that brilliant of Slow?

We must celebrate!
-
Friday at the party we can celebrate
I have quite a few things to be grateful this month
-
On Friday to celebrate Halloween, I'm throwing my onco on the bonfire after today's visit! Getting tired of her changing her story about my situation every time I ask questions! It just feels like she wants me to shut up and do as she thinks is best without regard to how I feel or my concerns!
-
burn the bitch on fr

lol will do Kracker!
-
Tell her u don't want to b kept in the dark n want 2 know everything
Fire. What poppy said

Hubby's considering taking the day off the next time I go in Dec. for a check-up. I get to see the Practical Nurse who is much better at answering my questions than my onco. At least the Practical Nurse listens to me and answers any questions I have.
-
My baby girl Grayson in her new set of wheels.....
Being put in her custom made wheel chair for the first time....I cried when I saw this...my sweet baby girl......she is my hero......
-
Just popping in. WIll post again later.
Ducky love the photos.
And I know when Firekracker's birthday is.
Hugs
-
So good to see her Ducky. She is getting so big. Such a beautiful little girl.
I know when Kracker's birthday is too. Blondie's not the ONLY one with super powers.
Edited for my usual typos.
