Teka- believe it or not, I downhill skied at Whiteface Mountain many years ago. I had an aunt and uncle who lived in North Hudson and ran a B&B (now closed, my aunt is gone and uncle moved from the Adirondacks last year to Oneata). We used to go X-country skiing a lot during my visits too.

Winter has shown it's snowy face a bit early up there, yes?

    God Morning everyone

Oh Bippy ejoyed u answer. Of course u'r scared the longer u wait the worse it is for u'r nerves I think but when It's over it'll be fine And u'r having recon the same time--good get it all over with We'll all be her for u.

teka I don't blame u for putting that blanki away.

Onco I've had diarrhea since the first week of chemo  and totally done with it for over 4 years but this never stopped. Have had every test, been in the hospital a few times cuz it drains any good stuff my blood has plus dehydrates and a bunch of Drs. and no one knows why ad it has no rules either, just comes stays as long as it wants to (even tho I take script meds) and it knocks me out. So I have proof I am full of chit Unfortunately it really happens fast, and I've been in restaurants and different places when it starts so Depends it is and they don't always work as well as u think. Mine is like explosive chronic diarrhea???

Jazzy u'r back in the real world now and I just hope it gets better and better for you.

Jazzy, not the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, but the Whiteface Mountain Veteran's Memorial Highway!

    Have you been to both?

My Grandparents had friends in North Hudson!

Did you go to Frontier Town, which is now closed?

Teka- only the ski center, don't remember the highway. I seem to vaguely remember Frontier town too. I will have to PM you about a few things!

Cami- you poor thing. D for that long, it must be a permanent SE from the chemo.

It is going to be up to 80 degrees here this weekend (warm for end of October for sure). I plan to enjoy the last nice days before the cold snap arrives next week. It often snows in the mountains here on Halloween.

Dwill- where are you? Are you okay?

Beautiful day here and started trimming the rosemary bushes that got huge with the rains this summer, but the yellow jackets are hanging around them today, and so I decided to move away. I suspect a nest may in the ground underneath one of them.

    Jazzy,

I am always careful not to disturb yellowjacket wasps if nesting in the
stone wall, or in the ground when doing Fall clean-up. Colonies
are most dangerous in late Summer and early Fall when colonies are at
their peak size. Unlike bees, yellowjackets are aggressive and free to
sting as many times as they want without injury to themselves. They
aren't like the sweet honey bees and bumble bees.

Teka- yes, I am careful too. My rosemary bushes have another round of purple blooms and think that is what they are after, but cannot be sure. I got a start today but will go out earlier in the morning to do more work tomorrow as they come out with the heat of the day.

Photo from the front rock garden. Things still in bloom but we will get a freeze soon so I am enjoying the last of my gardens as we head into late fall.

Teka- will you adopt me? I want money and stocking stuffers too!

I do a lot of my Xmas shopping along the way during the year and then pull things out to mail them or package them end of the year. Helps me to give things to people I know they will like. I hate shopping in Nov and Dec so this is my way of avoiding it.

Which reminds me to tell our friends in treatment here, keep your holidays as simple as possible. Let others cook and or do the work to entertain. Holidays are exhausting when you are feeling well, never mind with all the rest, and you want to keep taking good care of you.

    Jazzy, would you mind cooking?

    I
want no part of *Gray Thursday and Black Friday*.   I'll be spending
the last weekend in November getting X-mas Cards ready to mail out
    December 1st.

Teka-  I would cook for you any time! Although I don't do a lot of cooking since I live alone, I do enjoy making meals that others enjoy.

I always buy myself a Xmas present every year, and something came up yesterday that told me this was it for 2014. Do you know the singer Michael McDonald? He was originally with the Doobie Brothers back in late 70s to early 80s, then he went out on his own and has had a very successful solo career. I used to see him back east and he has been here numerous times the past few years (gone every time).

He is doing a special holiday concert with a special meet and greet session. I bought a ticket and am going and will get to meet him! He is also donating the enter proceeds for his holiday concerts he is doing to a charity called whyHunger.org. I am big into donating to food banks and the like here in town. So many in need. So the whole thing felt like it was good to do. I meet one of my musical heros and also do something for the greater good.

    Now to plan the outfit.....

Onco- yes, he has good hair. Nice blue eyes too. His wife (also a musician) had bc and read about it in an article she wrote for some mag. They interviewed the two of them together.

Going to this place during the family thanksgiving visit called the Bosque del Apache. Sandhill cranes come to winter here, and I heard some today during my walk by the river, but have not seen any yet.
