Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Went to my exercise class (which I will call 'Circuit Training' as long as we have the good, tough sub) this morning & have been sitting on the front steps reading a book. I will not even try to get inside stuff done while the weather lasts!
-
2.75 miles walking around McKinney with a friend.
-
I like this:

-
Just did 25 minutes on the Gazelle
-
Did almost 11k steps today manning the bbq at the company's charity event for the Cdn Breast Cancer Society. Fighting a cold so a hot bath and early bed for me.
Teacher, hope things are going well with the bp and svt problems.
Mary, I would never move out of such a lovely location. Walks with the dog many times a day. Wonder what trails are nearby? Should google that.
Talk to you tomorrow. The voices have been calling.
-
Did some yard work and then went for a walk. It was a beautiful fall evening.
-
Sending healing thoughts to all of those feeling under the weather.
Beautiful pictures Mary. Are you selling your home to retire to the cabin?
Went to bootcamp both last night and tonight.
-
Had a cyst removed from my head this morning. Appt was over with enough time for me to get in a 3 mile run before heading to school for the afternoon. Glad I ran before the numbing stuff wore off.
My head is very sore now...
-
Youch!
-
Ginger, hope today is better.
Freestyle step and body balance this morning.
-
I have been slammed with work, so no more than daily 2 mile walks and weekday weights/crunches. Worked both weekend days and am a dull girl now. Tomorrow, I am on a plane for NYC. Mix of business and pleasure. I am packing my running shoes, and plan on doing the famous jog around Central Park Reservoir while there.
I have also been having computer problems so making sure I back up my files. I backed up my system recently so should be OK. I will need to set up on a new computer at work and then call Sony to see if I need to get my hard drive changed out. You never realize how your computer is your lifeline to your work until some of these things happen. I also need to set up on my tablet so all works just fine. I am at this point.
Will catch up more later. I need to get ready and get to the office. But make sure I leave myself enough time to pack tonight. Perhaps make a list first? - Claire

Odie - the long term plan is to retire to the cabin, but we can't financially pull that off for a few years. Short term, we plan to rent a small for a few years close to work - rent will be less than our current mortgage payment on the house so we'll be saving some money, plus we won't have those unexpected house expenses like - ooops! Need a new roof. Or oooops! Need a new furnace. The plan is to do everything we can in the next few years to retire as early as possible! Ginger - hope the head is better! Claire - I keep basic packing list templates on my PC - one for winter travel, one for beach travel, one for city travel, etc. I use them as a start when deciding what to pack for what kind of trip. Have fun in NYC - as the saying goes, I love to visit there, but could not handle living there!
Just over 5 miles of interval track work last night - and of course it
rained again!! But it felt good - after 10 weeks of this running
clinic, I can really feel how much my running has improved. It's been grueling, but very worth it. Our target race is a hilly 10K on 11/2 - our clinic schedule takes on a dry run of the course this Saturday so we'll know what to expect, and our coaches can give us tips on how to handle specific course challenges. -
The Wednesday Walking Women walked in one of the lady's neighborhood & then she hosted us for a wonderful brunch...more calories in than out..... I'll do Zumba this evening.
Have fun on your trip, Claire!
Gosh Mary, DH & I better get out to DC quick for our tour; before you bury the saint, sell the house & move into a studio apartment!

-
Reporting in for a couple of days. 20 minute walk yesterday and weights. 30 minute walk tonight. Brisk and fall--like here but sunny and colorful leaves.
-
Shoulder stretches, shoulder stretches, and more shoulder stretches with push ups, lunge curls, and overhead squats thrown in and it was a good workout day. I go back to cardio doc in two weeks and just need to monitor. All was well today.
-
hi all, checking in with 8.2 miles walked since last post. Walked 30 mins after work Mon and an hour tonight; Tues was date night. Today was an absolutely gorgeous fall day. Ruth I saw on the weather 81 degrees in ND the other day?? Mary, love the cabin pix. Safe travels to our globe-trotters. ♥
-
Fitlinxx machines for an hour.
-
Ginger, hope your head feels better today.
Mary, smart plan and totally understand the surprise expenses of homeownership. Fyi, your cabin sounds just like what DH and I want to retire to at some point. We have picked out the log home plan and now just need to decide where in the Carolinas to put it.........LOL
Ruth, great WWW picture. Wish I had a group like that near me.
Teacher, sounds like you are getting stronger each day.

Exercise for me today was 30 minutes on the Elliptical. Work has been insanely busy, like Claire's life (ha ha) so that was all I could muster.
Hope everyone not feeling well is now on the upswing. Sweet dreams sculpted sisters.
Edited to fix stupid typos.

Rhody and Wonderland - I'm about an hour from Charlotte in Mooresville so I am not far from Lake Norman! Count me in for lunch!
Wonderland - am curious, do you go to any support groups around here? I haven't tried any yet...have been getting my support here on the boards! My surgery was at Presbyterian in Charlotte and I have heard about the Buddy Kemp center and the Pink House, but haven't been to either of them yet. I went to a few cancer education classes at Presbyterian in Huntersville, but haven't made it to the other places yet.
I haven't made it back on the treadmill yet since the weekend...had two night meetings this week and been working on my bible study tonight for tomorrow. I keep reading about people who are counting their steps...I know I have one of those pedometers around here somewhere. I need to find it and wear it one day because I am curious how much I walk just in zipping around.
-
30 mins on the treadmill tonight but I didn't do a workout because I was firing my trainer. Well trying to. But she started crying and actually blubbering her words and I lost heart. So I'll give her one more chance. Gosh why can't I stand firm in things. She really hurt me - I was out for almost 2 weeks and she wouldn't believe me when I said, I can't do more. Kept pushing. O well.
Goodnight ladies.
-
25 minutes on the Gazelle planned for tonight!
-
Ruth - no matter where we move, there's always room for you and dh to visit!
Red - you are too nice!! Hopefully your trainer has learned a lesson that when a client says I can't do anymore, they mean it. Odie - have you checked out Topsider Homes for your cabin in the woods? We were going to build a log cabin, but when we found Topsider on the internet, we went with them. Our "cabin" is octagonal, with a center pole and support struts. Since none of the exterior walls are load bearing, we can have huge ceiling to floor windows all around. Topsider is in North Carolina, so it would be handy for where you want to go. They even have pedestal homes for beaches and other places prone to flooding. Here's a picture of the cabin I took this weekend. As you can see, we have lots of windows!I've got my running gear at work and plan on running the 4 miles home after work tonight - it's a clear blustery day here and temps should be about 60 by then, which is perfect running weather for me. I'm running on park trails almost all the way home, so it's a pretty run.
-
Greetings from Cancun , Mexico, not too much moving around here since it{s been raining all week but yesterday went to the supermarket and walked a little, <i am going to have to go on a diet when I get back since Ive been eating all kinds of deli stuff lol. Hope everyone is doing all right.

Nice home Mary and liked looking through the link.
Mat Thursday, body balance, pink pilates, yoga, and more yoga.
-
I have a question. I have been done with chemo for about 8 months now and am training for an 8 K. Here is the problem. While running I suddenly have to have a bowel movement and can hardly get home in time. I didn't have this problem before cancer. Is it just getting old (52), am I pushing myself too hard, or is there a trick that runners have to get the bathroom thing out of the way before they exercise? I fear being in the middle of my 8 K and having a blowout. Help!
-
Thanks Mary, nice of you to say. And I adore your cabin as much as your trails. Can I sneak into Ruth's luggage when she comes visiting?
Sorry LLC, that isn't a problem I've had, but there are a ton of runners on here so I'm sure someone will have a suggestion.
Going out to dinner tonight with the Well Fit girls, so my exercising will be fork to mouth. We're doing Mexican this month. Olé.
-
I was able to do the workout my trainer had set for me today...and kept my heart rate within target range. I concentrated on breaking and felt good to accomplish 7 sets of presses, lunges, and sit ups. I will continue my comeback!!
-
Went to my exercise class (different sub, did a lot of things with balls......kind of fun to have different teachers & get a variety of workouts), then raked leaves for an hour & subbed this afternoon (Math.....luckily the teacher left me the answer key!), and I'm going to a volleyball game tonight.....so another busy day!
Hopefully a runner can help you with your problem, love. I imagine that if you could get yourself on a schedule so that you 'go' before you start the running, that would help.
Aurora, hope you are having fun even with the rain.
Mary, what a cool cabin! I have to go visit my sister before I go anyplace else or she will disown me.....but maybe DC in the spring?
-
Mel: I sent you a PM.
Nats: Love Love Love your cabin!
Aurora: Have fun!
Hi all! Walked/ran this evening in fabulous weather! My computer is about to restart so I need to sign off. Have a good night everyone!
-
An hour on elliptical yesterday followed by heartburn.I had not had it since much since I lost 10 pounds a couple of years ago but I have been gaining and eating all sorts of stuff this week so need to get back on regular diet.
After lots of alka seltzer (this is my miracle heartburn cure) I was ok this morning and did 30 mins on recumbent bike followed by some free weights. In the afternoon 9 holes of golf with a cart that was very slow and the only real exercise was when I got out to push the cart at one point as it was dying and we had to phone for a replacement.
I love the cabin too!!
