Chrissy, I'm hoping you'll find that your fatigue has absolutely nothing to do with the cancer. Nothing at all! There are all kinds of sleep disorders too. Mine is apnea, and I do use a machine each and every night. Thinking all good thoughts and prayers for you as you get to the bottom of this.
Nancy, the end is actually in sight! Can't wait for more pictures. And a tick? Glad you got it totally out. We have years where there are lots of them but this year hasn't been bad. Glad your dental problems are being sorted out.
Carole, I'm glad you're enjoying the fall too. It's turned very chilly here and the heat is on! I also have a winter gown and socks (!) on.
Aiden's still doing well. DIL has a wedding to photograph on Thursday so we'll keep him all day and get his brother from school too. Thursday's an odd day for a wedding but the couple found that they could save lots of money having it then. Makes sense to me!
Hope all of us have a good week.
Kathy

Just a quick hi to all.
Big hugs
-
mac, Yikes! I really don't like ticks...I have spent countless hours over the years scouring my horses, dogs and kids for ticks. Thank goodness we do t have a big problem with them here in AZ. I hope your tick bite clears up well with the antibiotic. Keeping my fingers crossed that the house is finished soon!
Kathy, So glad to hear that little Aiden is doing well!
Chrissy, I will be praying that your fatigue is nothing to worry about...just you over doing it!
Take care of yourself woman! Lol
Hugs to all, lilyrose

saw this little fellow on my way to buy groceries today..
and this
glad the tick was taken care of...I hate it when you have something you can't see...one time I took
a photo of my rear end to see what was growing there...had it frozen off...
Sleep tight...

Lisa, love the pic of the bird. So clear!
Poor thing looks like it only has one leg. I might be a little sensitive to gimpy birds. I was watching a flock of "wild" turkeys cross the road the other day and some of them really had a limp going. We have roving bands of these birds, traffic actually stops for them to cross the street.
lol Lisa, about the photo. My DD had taken a pic of my "area" to show me and we still couldn't tell what it was. I gotta get a better camera.
-
Those birds rest on one leg, so he is fine!
-
yesterday I got to go cutting in a friend's garden before the frost.
-
-
Beautiful. I love dahlias, but don't have the patience to grow them. I like the blue vase too.
-
Oh Nancy, they are gorgeous!!! I love dahlias in all their forms! Don't you just love neighbors who let you loose in their gardens?!..........lol.
I was sitting out the back in the courtyard with DH a little earlier and we were watching a pair of sparrows and a pair of blackbirds tussling over the garden space they both wanted........so funny. The weather has turned nippy again after a huge thunder storm last night but sadly it is not going to last as it's supposed to get hot again by the end of the week.....blah! It can stay cool for as long as it likes.......lol......I much prefer it.
I've been out in the garden again taking pics so I'll share one I really like.
Take care all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hello to all. I've been out of commission for a while, I ended up in the hospital with an intestinal obstruction - seems my guts were auditioning for the rock group Twisted Sister. So they hauled me in for surgery, straightened everything out, made sure proper color returned (apparently it did NOT look good when they saw it) and sewed me back up again. And my intestines proceeded to go on strike. It seems our guts don't lik being fussed with nor do the like general anesthesia. So they stop working. Most of the time it's a day or so, but some of us just keep going - it took a FULL WEEK for things to start up again. Then they had to make sure they really truly were working before I could be released. So altogether, two weeks in the hospital. Not. Fun. I'm home now, recuperating (it was a really tough time) and on a soft diet. Weak as a baby and eating like one.
But I'm home.
Leah
-
Oh dear, sorry to hear that Leah. I'm glad you're finally home. Hospitals are just no fun at all. My Dad had something similar and it was incredibly painful. Hugs.
-
Oh Leah what troubles you have had!!! I'm so glad you are finally home.........there is nothing wrong with eating like a baby, they eat little and often and that's what makes them grow.....lol. With a little more rest I'm sure you will be back to yourself in no time.
So lovely to have you back!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Lovely cut flowers in the blue vase and a lovely picture from Chrissy's yard. Thank you both for posting the pics.
Leah, what a bad time you have been through. Hope you get stronger and feel good again.
I cleaned house all day yesterday and have aches this morning in muscles and joints, telling me I'm no "spring chicken" any more!
Happy Tues. to all.
-
Leah, I am glad things are better for you. I am having "gut" problems, myself, so can understand. Colonoscopy scheduled for next week I'm glad you are better
Wilsie
-
Oh Leah, what an ordeal...so happy you are home and hopefully on the mend..

Must share a funny story at my expense. Played in a match play golf tournament today at our club. My opponent was a good friend. On #13, I hit a ball into a large ditch. I could see it embedded in the opposite bank. I got out my retriever, stepped down close to the water, lost my balance and fell into the ditch! I got my feet wet and my shorts. I continued playing. The temperature was low 80's.
Afterward I went to a doctor's office and picked up a prescription for my mother, despite my untidy condition.
Tomorrow I will play again. Maybe my ball will still be there and I can get it this time!
-
Oh Leah, so happy you're home and things are working again, but what a dreadful experience you had! Hope you continue to get better and better.
Nancy, how wonderful that your friend gave you free run in her garden. What beautiful flowers! I'd like to have that kind of neighbor, too.
Always love your pictures, Lisa. I continue to be impressed with San Diego and the beautiful pictures you get, even while doing something as routine as going to the grocery store.
Chrissy, love the bee and the blue flower. What is that flower? It's a gorgeous blue!
Sorry about your spill into the drink, Carole. At least it was a warm day.
We've been having summer weather here despite the calendar (around 85F), but tomorrow a cool-down's predicted. I don't like the cold since I just freeze, but really, it's time for it.
Tomorrow I'll make the call to my state employee (retired) health insurance and sign up for a supplemental Medicare plan. Got my Medicare card last week, and I'll be eligible in January, or probably February, since my birthday is Jan. 17. I find all of it hard to believe, but it is what it is.
Hope all are having a good week.
Kathy

I have been on Medicare for 7 years. You are right. It is what it is.
-
Carole, that's dedication! I used to plat tennis in 100 degrees when I lived in Florida, much younger days . I did love the game and the friendships. Miss it! Find, fond memories. Wilsie
-
Wilsie, I played tennis for 30 some years. Then I switched to golf. There are times when I think I should have stuck with tennis. I find golf a more difficult sport. But one woman in our women's group is in her 80's and still plays well.
-
Hi all
Pleased to see you here Leah have been worried about you.
Waiting to meet up with another Kiwi BCO girl and have coffee
Hugs to all.
-
Leah, Sounds like you had an awful ordeal! Glad you are home. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Wilsie, I hope your results from your colonoscopy are good. It's never fun waiting on tests.
Kathy, Good luck on the medicare signup. I dread doing that in a few years...it's getting harder to find doctors that will accept it here.
I finished Rad #26 today...now on to 8 boosts. Then done. The emu oil is working very well for me! I haven't had any dryness or peeling skin-yet. gulp. The fatigue is the worst, but I find taking a nice nap or two every day gets me through. Except for the neuropathy, I'm feeling pretty good.
Hoping you are all doing well, lilyrose
-
Carole that blue plant is an Echium or commonly known as a Pride of Madeira. The one I have is only a small one and is flowering for the first time this year and I am so pleased as it is gorgeous! Lol on your golfing story......it really did conjure up a great pic in my head. Hope your game goes better next time.
Wilsie, good luck with your colonoscopy! Hope everything is just fine in that area! I tried tennis...once......I think they are still looking for the ball that I hit wayyyyy over the fence....lol. I found playing squash and swimming were my sports when I was young.
LilyRose so glad you are almost done with your treatments........oh yes, the fatigue is so disabling so just take it easy, you will eventually start to feel more energetic. It's good to hear that you are feeling fine otherwise.
A quiet weekend coming up and hopefully a little cooler than it was today.
Take care all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Well I do have to brag about my DH. I've been having trouble drinking enough since I came home from the hospital. Water (both filtered and bottled) tastes metallic. The only juices I am allowed to have are apple juice and grape juice (still on restricted diet). Naturally, Little Miss Spoiled Me can't stand apple juice, and the only grape juice I like is the American one, so it's not in every supermarket. DH, who takes walks for health, walked to the supermarket that has the juice. He bought FOUR BOTTLES of juice, 1.89 liters each and carried them home. That supermarket is over a kilometer away. Definitely Husband Of The Year.
Thank you all for your good wishes. I'm slowly recuperating, and fatigue is the biggest problem now. Every day is better, though, so I know I'll get through it. On Sunday I can slowly start lifting dietary restrictions., so that will help.
Leah
-
Leah, your dh is definitely a "keeper"! Glad that you're getting better.
Chrissy, I am not familiar with that flowering plant.
A BMX is no "walk in the park," but I'm glad I avoided radiation and future mammograms.
Today I'm driving my mother (91 yrs. old) to her hair apptment and then we're going out for lunch.
Wishing everyone a good Friday.
-
I have pseudemonas infection in my port, they did a culture after my treatment Monday. It doesn't hurt, I would not even know that I had it, but for a slight discharge when they removed the needle. I am on Cipro for a week, not sure if this will affect my long anticipated colonoscopy Tuesday. I really want my lower GI fixed. Isn't it always something? Wilsie
-
wilsie, I hope for a fast response from the antib, so your procedure can go on as planned.
oh Leah, I am so glad that you are in recovery mode now! What a great DH you have, just to make his sweetie happy.
lilyrose, keep up the lubrication efforts, seems to be paying off. ReI love the st as much as you need.
carole, glad you didn't get stuck in that ditch, just the ball, eh? hope you had a good lunch with mom.
chrissy, you amaze me with your good cheer and optimism. I love the close up of the bee. It is so clear. I was just trying to take pictures of my DD and her friends dressed for Halloween and my hands tremble and twitch so it is hard to get a clear one. lol they are such critics, too.
I have to get a root canal now, through one of the crowns that was just put in. sigh!
-
here's a pic of lights on at the house, she is moving in this weekend.
this turned out to be a perfect halloween pic since the dog got caught with her spooky eyes.
-
Halloween's almost over and we had, as always, quite a crowd. Our neighborhood is just one long street with a cul-de-sac at the end and kids from all over come in caravans. At one point I had at least 30 at once, and one of them said they'd come in a trailer! That's entirely possible since we have lots of farms in this part of the county. Only rain beginning at 8:30 saved me from running totally out.
Lily Rose, fatigue is a problem the more treatments you have, but the end is at last in sight! You'll still have to take it easy and rest (a lot) but the fatigue will eventually lessen.
Good luck with the colonoscopy, Wilsie. Hope the Cipro doesn't prevent you from having it as I know you want to get it over with.
Nancy, the house looks great with the lights on! And ready to be occupied! Your dental problems just seem to go on and on, and I hope you can soon see the end of them. Mouth pain really hurts, too.
Leah, your DH is such a dear to lug that grape juice home for you. He got a real work-out! I hope your fatigue will lessen as you add more food to your diet.
Looks like the rains have set in, and it's very chilly tonight. Well, tomorrow should be a good day for sleeping a little later than usual!
Kathy
