    AmenPhyliss !

Blondie, I loved Gone Girl, the book. Disturbing, but a page turner. I have not seen the movie yet, but maybe this weekend. I agree, how did we get so old? I realized the other day, I know, hard to believe but I was thinking.....I ( or maybe we ) can only think of ourselves as 4-5 years older. When I was 30, I only imagined myself as 35. I never knew grandparents, so I was not raised watching that generation. My parents were old when they had me, not really old, but old for those days. Now at 59, I can picture myself in my mid 60s, but not much older. Do you guys think of aging the same way, in 5 year increments? Could be just me. Chevy, what is your take on this, being the senior spokesperson ?

Also, Chevester, your beautiful daughters resemble you! How lucky we are to have our children, I cannot imagine life without them.

Tomorrow I am back at the chemo center to get a infusion of Zometa......arrrggg, I asked for it, so I am getting it. I will let you know how it goes...

Just got back from my kids volleyball game and they won! close game. A bunch of middle schoolers - so CUTE! Glad I went. My kid called me at 6am from the dorms to tell me not to miss the game. 6am.. arrrggg. They get up early. OY! I am tired. I got up at 1:30am and more melatonin and back to bed - up at 6. Kids.. they are as bad as cats. I throw all my cats out - they will walk right across me at night snd then lay down on my head! No sense of boundaries. My dogs are well behaved in their beds asleep.

Chevy be thankful you're older then dirt - the alternative is -  under the dirt! Ha ha.. the fossil thing was kinda harsh. Your daughters are cute.

It's ok being older parents. I'm 56 with a 21, 19, 13 year old. (first and last ones adopted)

Phyllis -Amen! Can't do paintball with tremors --- well you might end up being the next Jackson Pollock?! abstract painter and make millions!

All those battling the crud, flu, respiratory junk lay low and heal up!

This Ebola thing is pretty over the top. I mean we lose hundreds to thousands from flu every year and no one panics! I do think sending everyone to the 4 speciality hospitals makes sense. Then they can collect data, keep all the treatment the same and study what works.

    May we all sleeeeeep  zzzzzz.

my oldest will be 45 next month. I still kind of think of myself as being that age now. I understand better how my mom feels about looking old so she wouldn't use her cane.  I'll be 65 (yikes) next birthday.  Don't feel that old!

Nettie hasn't checked in lately, she get her vacation?

Oh? So what's this with asking Chevy about what it's like growing older?
WHO said this? Was it .... HI-ho??? You little Dickens!

Well seriously now, getting older is just simply what happens! And it
ain't pretty.... Ha! I know we are just plain lucky to be able to do it, and I
thank GOD every night, and every morning to have another day.

But DANG girls, 77 is just a wee-bit older than I ever dreamed about! It
don't FEEL like it, but oh wait.... yes it does.

But no-matter what, I get up, (carefully) and hope I am not dizzy this
time, and get the day started... Make-up and hair always, unless we aren't
going out.... then I just brush my hair, and pull it back so's I don't scare
    people.

But when I was maybe 20, I thought 24 was old! I mean those women I worked
    with seemed ancient....

5 year increments? I hardly remember what those were! Lately they come in
    10 year installments!

So I looked up my planned "due-date".... It came out that I will live
beyond 96! There must have been a mistake somewhere along the line.... You
gals better BE here, or else!

Just take care of yourselves gals... Be happy, as much as you can... and
love with all your heart... don't be dragged into un-happy situations, or do
things that will hurt you..... like walking!

Phylliweshouldnotteaseher, because she has had a bitch of a time.... So
glad you gave up the paint-ball-porch thing! The Feds were on their way.

And thank you for the compliments for "those girls".... They keep me
    young.

Rosie.... I just don't pay any attention to those "things" .... they come
    from people I love... Ha!

On WAIT~ What you said makes sooooooo much sense! About how many die from
    the flue every year!

Okay now Sass will be on us like fleas on a dog, telling us how different
this is.... and I guess it is, but I don't know how.

Sass, just make a joke for us.... Or did you? If you did, I didn't get
    it, which is nothing unusual...

    So

TWO FONTS WALK INTO A BAR AND THE BAR TENDER SAYS.... "WE DON'T SERVE YOUR TYPE HERE."

Amen to the vodka, Chevy. Here's my story about growing old. My sweet DH is nine years younger than I. We met when he was a 27 year old Air Force sergeant and I was a 36 year old two time divorcee. We married two months later. After we'd been married a few months, he said to me one day, "When I was a kid, I thought, when I'm a teenager I'll feel grown up. When I got to be a teenager, I thought, when I turn 18 I'll feel grown up. When I turned 18 and didn't, I thought, I'll join the military, that will make me feel grown up. But it didn't. Then I thought, when I get married, I'll feel grown up. But I don't. When will I feel grown up?" I replied, that's the secret. You never do. We are now 63 and 54 and cousin is 77. And none of us is grown up. Though we do grown up things. Well, some of us do. I read FaceBook and play games on the internet. All my friends live there.

Jwoo - Ohhh if that light machine works wouldn't that just be the BEST!? Jeez I would give anything to try that. I use a Phillips Blue Light therapy machine for the dark Winter months when the Northwest Winter Blues sets in here in Oregon. It seems to help. I wonder if I put the light on my feet what would happen? Never occurred to me to try that. Thanks for the link. I will keep an eye open for more on that therapy. I wonder why it would work. I understand why the photo therapy on the retina works, but how would light on skin effect nerves?

Spookie- pretty funny. I feel 105 some days or at least that's the age my joints feel!

I slept from 11-5Aam - record setting! WoooHooo I feel good.

May we all be well in cancerland. Have a great day.

mags, RIGHT ON!  We're only as old as you feel.  Wait, wrong proverb, that doesn't work for a lot of us. I don't think we should grow up and act our age!  How are 60ish people suppose to act?  Our kids and grandkids keep us young. Besides what would we do with a bunch of old, crouchity people anyway?!

I should know more today if I get to go see Harry potter. Keep you posted.

    Hi ladies---well most are

I'm srry I didn't read everything u guys talk so much.

enerva I did read about u'r sister u know we're all pulling for her, I'll pull Chevy's leg. My sister never got chem or rads, just that monthlyshot wich is now every 3 months and meds for cancer and she is ding wonderfully, better than me that bitch.

Who said ca we trust the government? Made me laugh, living in IL with the past couple of governors and others in politica from our state and are now in jail---I would say never trust the government, plus don't forget I worked the the state for over 20 yrs. I know it's a terrible thing to say but in this stte it's true and we're no 4 as the most corrupt state of all.

Oh and that fever sounds way to high to me can u take a cool bath, have someone rub a dry wash cloth all over you or something similar, that has helped me. If u still have it tonite go to the ER. Let them give u an IV that's the best.

And Spookie u'r not as old as dirt, Chevy is but I'm sure your memory will work about u'r childhood and living in the caves, that's about u'r age group and I helped hllow out the caved so see u'r not so old.

I've been in the bsthroom most of the morning and not to read either. And I got invited to 2 parties tomorrow nite, I'm so upset 2 in one nite and me hovering over the toilet.---there's a party for next weekend too. Oh the woes of being such a party animal, it ain't easy.

OK I just stopped in t say hi and hoping everyone has a better day today.

Rose, Please calling Chevy and Cami Fossils wasn't harsh. We JOKE allot here. But when they don't read the joke it does make it a problem. You will never find two people like Chevy and Cami . I believe they missed their callings and should have been script writers for Saturday Night Live or Johnny Carson. They could have been Abbott and Costello. It's very unusual for me too make a joke. But that's why I love so much that Chevy & Cami have chosen to be here. I do once and a while try, but of course seems awful if you haven't seen us before. The fossil line was meant to be a straight man lead in line for each of them to run with........

Chevy, nope the opposite, I suggest that we are to saturation point on Ebola. I will compare it to Hurricanes. When I first moved to Florida in 1992, 6 months later Andrew happened. Totally glued to all things hurricane then, and maybe the next year. But then I learned all it did was make me crazy. Plus, it was expensive to get ready for i.e supplies, outdoor prep, money stash, and other stuff.

NOW, I watch the weather once and awhile. If a blow is developing. I watch the track maybe once a day. I lay in supplies in June for the whole summer. I've fixed the shutters so they are either up and covering, to the side of each window and just need to be moved over, or they are stored within feet of the window they are fitted for. I have minimal but functional outdoor stuff. Everything's designed that I have very minimum work. Therefore, if a blow IS coming near, no problem.

How does that apply to Ebola?

We all know the signs and symptoms, so that learning is done.

I suggest STOP watching the news. Only pay attention to what is happening in your immediate area. Why? All the worst is over to a degree. It is in localized places right now. The ineffectiveness and lying has been uncovered. This is good. Media WILL keep on this ad nauseum (Chevy Latin for nausea, you asked me about that before). This is good that the media is bulldogging everything. Government will actually fix this mess, but it will take awhile. It's likely to get messier before it gets better b/c there have been so many screw ups. Like I said before, a ridiculous script.

The positive about the screw ups, is it allows the REAL PROTOCOLS to be put in place and real training to be done. We are better for this, I just hope no on else dies. In the long haul we will have better infection control for everything.

We have had PPE rules since 1986. With the Dallas foul ups, I now understand why infection control has been out of control for decades. CDC thought we had Emory/Nebraska standards, and what is the standard throughout the USA is Dallas. This may be hard to understand. As I keep saying it's the difference between a Lexus and an Escort. What's easy to understand is almost everyone is fearful of hospital based infections. All hospitals outside of the Lexus category are functioning on the Escort category. This is why hospital based infections are such a problem throughout the USA.

What will eventually happen b/c of ALL these foul ups is 1. better understanding of infectious disease/contagion, 2. what constitutes Isolation rules and everything that goes along with infectious disease, and 3. the public is educated RE: what is right.

The bar for standards and the application of standards will be set sooooo much higher. The public will never again accept Escort standards.

So, unless you are in a direct location or taking a trip, do yourself a favor and treat the story right now the same way I treat hurricanes. Check in maybe once a day. Even better take a break. :)

In my last post, I suggested why it's now time to take a break from Ebola. BUT I just came across this article that addresses the fear and anxiety that is occurring. It's a good read because some one with a big time reputation and a degree in the field is saying the same thing, essentially.  SO please, read, THEN take an Ebola break.

ok ok this is what you 3 do.  Got it. I grew up in a household of nothing but brothers and the only girl. They made teasing into an art form. I never really understood the girl ribbing and teasing. Boys are meat ax blunt! You three do chatter and banter lots. There isn't  thread quite like this one. Amusing.

    Carry on! Be well.

Just acknowledging that sas schatzi calling chevy a fossil was all in fun and not "harsh" as I initially thought.
