So I was shopping for instant cold packs for my upcoming extraction. I was looking at the one pack vs the two pack. On the one pack it said for sprains, strains and swelling. The picture was a woman holding the ice pack to her boob. I said to the woman helping me "What did she sprain her boob?" We had a good laugh.

That dog picture is hilarious!  He sure can open his mouth wide!

mac - funny about the picture on the ice pack!  I have a whole bunch of ice packs in the freezer from when I had my biopsies in June - I think I had two on each side.  I really need to get rid of them...can't see putting them in my lunch, somehow they are "tainted" boob ice packs - lol!

no. Not on the show. I was part of a Brides  Against Breast Cancer event that partnered with the show.  Some local design students made our outfits ( that's my wife next to me). But, if you get The Daily Buzz in your area, we will be in it Friday!

Jbokland, so cool.  Your wife looks beautiful.  I love Randy, but don't watch the show much.  I'm a bitter divorcee right now, lol.

Happy Thanksgiving friends to the north!  I am all Halloween in Oct though.  Smile.

jbok - beautiful dress! Talented students - did you get to keep the dress?

missingmercury - I love all things fall. Used to be more into Halloween a few years ago. Seem to have lost interest since DS grew out of it and moving out of town to a rural area. No kiddies come by at all.

Hi! I love the humor abundant in your group and feel inspired to figure out how to post a photo of me and my dog, Abby Airedale. She is my chemo buddy having been diagnosed with lymphoma through finding lumps in her Mammaries a month before me. Really. This is my one week anniversary of chemo. Nauseau is my nemesis, and the anti meds hate my guts. I'm thinking of trying acupuncture and if anyone has tried this I'd love to know! Thank you for all the support you give. Linda

    Hi Booklady,

I haven't tried acupuncture for nausea, but have used it for other things. One time I had a bad cold, and the needles unstuffed me!  That was amazing.  I think it is worth a try.

Poor Abby!  Is she getting treatment for her lymphoma?  I hate that dogs get cancer too. It's so unfair. My last dog had tumor on adrenal gland. **sucked**

Booklady, really?  You can't take the anti nausea meds?  How do they keep you from barfing during infusion? I thought adriamycin was notorious for that..so sorry.  Welcome

There are so many anti-nausea meds available... including the patch. Have they tired them all?

For an alternative, I have read that hypnosis helps.... for a reputable source, too.

Yay Joni! It must feel great to be close to the end of the road! I'm just on my second bottle of Tamox, then I get an AI for 5 years after that.

Honestly, 5 yrs ago in the midst of radiation, after the chemo, I never though 5 years would EVER pass.  It was so in that moment, that present and it didn't seem like there was a future!  But----IT'S SO BRIGHT, I GOTTA WEAR SHADES!!!!  I am so going to boogie on the night of November 14!

Could you look any happier in that pic, Eph?  The day you toss out that last bottle will be a celebration!

    Hahaha!  That PUMPKIN BUTT!!!

Thanks E.  I am thrilled.  The pharmacy tech gave me a hug.  When I got home last night, my daughter was just home from her job & I danced a jig around her.  She was a bit more reserved than I was (I think her biggest fear has been recurrence) but I loosened her up!!!

Aw Eph, so happy for you!!!!! Alas I'll probably start my HT in Dec/Jan and I won't be able to do that celebration for another 10 years. :(

hi! I'm enjoying this weekend before chemo round #2. I feel better prepared to deal with nausea, constipation, and sudden-overwhelming-need-to-nap times. But is this the week I lose my hair? Tues is day 14 of AC start. I've got a new ball cap, sleep caps and some gently worn scarves AND my wonderful wig stylist is standing by ready to shave my head and cut and style my wig whenever I am ready. Bring it on! take it off?

     - Congrats Eph3! Love your happy photo

     - jbokland, what a great photo of you, your wife, and Randy! My daughter and I used to catch Say Yes to the Dress and I hope Randy was as nice in person as he seems on the show.

    - glennie, Kathec and poppy K - thank for the warm welcome and suggestions about nausea. I'm going with the steroid dexamethasone and doubling up on zofran and dropping prochlorperazine per my MO. Patch and acupuncture scheduled. Doing everything I know about to keep constipation cramps and that fun stuff away.

    - my rescue girl, Abby Airedale is tolerating her chemo and is my best friend. I am grateful...

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I'm going to let Abby take me on a walk on this gorgeous fall day in Austin (under 90 degrees - woo hoo!) Linda
