Not on mammo last year but on this years
did anyone else have this happen? Last years 3d mammo was clear & this year showed a change in breast tissue. Does this typically mean that this was a new change recently? I have my doctors appt tomorrow morning & I am so scared.

Yes, to answer your question. I have shown changes in my left breast on my recent exam over last year.

This has happened to me... changes can sometimes be nothing more than fibrocystic changes which are totally benign. Scary nonetheless, I know.

yes, mammos are not perfect. Also, there will always be a point that "something" moves from not being visible to visibility . I had a clear mammo 13 months before my dx.

Hi Mama Darling -
My answer would be in keeping with everyone else on this thread so far. Usually, a change indicates just that - it could be a fibroid or fibrocystic material/cyst. I guess there are some other types of benign forms of cyst. This idea of change is what happened to me just this past August. Due to the change in mammograms, I was asked back for a second look, with time for an ultrasound on the same day, if required. Unfortunately, the ultrasound was still concerning so a biopsy was scheduled. For me, this change since last year turned out to be cancerous (caught very early). The cancer was removed just two weeks ago.
I am glad that you an appointment with your doctor scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully that will help with some answers. Whatever you do try to take it one step at a time. Stay on here you will find a lot of good help and information should you need it.

Yup-
regular mammos-- had one in March of 2008-all clear-- then boom--- October 2008 doc finds over 2cm lump in my right breast.....

Obviously - as with many 'things' do change within a year - or even months/weeks/days. My annual mammo was done in June and was the same as had been for years. IBC rasied it's ugly head early Aug. 'Things' change with time.

I went in for my regular mammogram in August 2013 because I felt a lump in my right breast. They did an ultrasound and said thy were cysts. Recheck in 6 months. Went back b/4 6 month was up on 1-2-14 because I noticed more lumps and they hurt. Had a mammo and ultrasound. Said just cysts, recheck in 6 months. Again noticed lumps in right armpit that hurt. Went in for mammo and ultrasound. Again radioligist said cysts. We could aspirate but they will come back. Talked to my MD and he said you may just want to remove them so they don't come back. Decided to think about it and then in August 2014 noticed the one cyst now felt like a walnut and underarm cysts continued to enlarge and hurt. I did not see my regular MD but said I want these things removed. Went in for elective surgery to remove all the cysts. Woke up from surgery to find out they did not remove them all. Found cancer so they ended the surgery. For two days they could not determine what I had for cancer except that it was high grade. We immediately asked my regular MD to transfer us to a bigger facility. I was diagnosed with Triple Negatve Breast Cancer. Because I had a partial surgery I was put thru every test so that they could determine if it had spread and so they could stage it. I am now doing chemo and get my 2nd treatment this Tuesday.. Long story but mammograms and ultrasounds never caught mine!
