Zohra, it's difficult to guess with all the treatment your Mom's had to that area, especially the additional surgery that sounds like it involved muscle... But one possibility might be truncal lymphedema.  Most women and therapists are aware that lymphedema can manifest in the arm & hand, but not all know that sometimes lymphedema (too much fluid) settles in the areas you're describing -- basically the breast area, underarm area and back around the shoulder blade, in which case it's referred to as truncal lymphedema.  If that's possibly what it is, heat (hot baths, hot tubs, extremely hot weather) make it worse, while pressure from either a sports bra or a t-shirt with compression (which can even be worn at night) can help.

Not sure that's what it is, but definitely a possibility.  One way to check is to see if pushing on the area leaves a momentary discoloration or finger indentation -- indicating there's a fluid buildup under the skin.       Deanna

Lymphedema was my first thought too. Have it checked out and good luck to your mom. It can be a life-long problem that needs careful management.
