NatsFan, I've spent years running before dawn and recommend you get a headlamp. They are very light weight and easy to wear, providing ample illumination of the ground.
I got a 2.5 mile run in after work today. It felt great after a day of too much sitting.
-
Another night of dancing at Body Jam loads of liquid awesome and then out to dinner to celebrate a friends birthday we went to a great restaurant followed up with cake, doesn't get any better than that.
-
Taking a break today. With everything I did yesterday between hanging the winter curtains and working out twice this week so far I figure I have done an hour of excercise all together!
-
Freestyle step with hand weights and body balance this am at the gym.
-

Went to Yoga & then had to take a walk. How could one not on such a beautiful fall day?!
-
Wow, Ruth! I am so jealous of these great spots you find to walk. That's absolutely beautiful! I got in 30 minutes of walking today, but it was on my treadmill. I need to go in search of someplace more scenic!
-
Stairwell (hot) workout today. Up a flight for 10 push ups, up another flight for air squats, up to fourth floor for curls and then back down to one. I could only do 4 reps because it was so hot. We finished in the gym, thankful for AC.
-
Great workout Teacher. Ruth, such beautiful fall pictures. Welcome back Badger!
Today's exercise was 35 minutes on the Elliptical plus some weights. Continuing to inch closer to my goal weight slowly but surely.
-
I was lazy this morning as it is a day off and I have been feeling a bit off all week, with bouts of fatigue and weakness in my arms and legs. I was having a nap when DH came in with an anniversary card. I was asleep with the dog on the bed. Nearly jumped out of my skin when I woke up and realized I had forgotten all about it, not the first time (15 years) but I will blame the tamoxifen. We went to the gym and I did 45 mins on cross trainer and a few minutes of weight machines for arms then went into Rite Aid and got an anniversary card.
-
Played tennis with DD and took my dog for a walk.
-
beautiful path Ruth!
Where do you buy that headlamp? I have switched to after school runs now but pretty soon it will be dark them too. Need to plan ahead.
-
You can get them at outdoor stores such as REI or sporting goods stores such as Dick's. PETZL and Black Diamond are two excellent brands.
-
Excercise today will be my storing away spring/summer wardrobe and breaking out fall/winter clothes.
-
Happy Belated Anniversary Lyzzysmom. Mommy of 2 living in Southern California we don't have the pleasure of swapping out wardrobes like you guys do.
Today I went to a Party in Pink Zumba fundraiser and danced for an hour and a half and I wore my Sculpted Sisterhood t-shirt, I thought of all my friends here on LPODE and one of the ladies took a picture of the back said she loved the saying 'the voices made me do it'
-
I walked 65 minutes today. A perfect Autumn day!
-
10/11- 40 laps in the pool today!
-
Ran 3 miles, did a core workout and just spent a lovely afternoon in Ventura Beach with DH and DD. Seeing that I got up at 5 to watch the Federer/Djokavich match, I'm exhausted!
-
Izzysmom, happy anniversary! Nice to know I am not the only woman alive who has forgotten her anniversary. Mine is later this week so it also was a handy reminder.
My exercise today was housecleaning and some ab exercises. And a nice walk.
-
Today I did about 40 mins on the treadmill followed by free weights and a couple of weight machines. On Monday I am going to ask the trainer to check out what happens when I try to do the fitness test. On two different treadmills I can't get past about 4 minutes before it tells me I am very unfit. I am jogging away but a minute or so after it gets to 5 mph my heart rate goes up, up , up and machine shuts down at 180! So I tried doing same on manual with hands on the heart monitor handles. Same thing happened except heart rate went back down quickly to 130 something once I backed off to 4 mph. I did notice a slight tightness in my jaw when my heart rate went up so may also mention to primary care BUT I have had stress tests and EKGs as I have never had much energy but they have always been normal so I feel like a bit of an idiot except that the fitness test seems to show something. Its a mystery. I think I will look for my old heart monitor that I bought when I joined a gym years ago but hardly used or get a new one if I cant find it.
-
Hi All. I fast walked/ran this evening in a slight foggy mist. Made my walk interesting.
-
Worked out at the Y for about 35 minutes.
-
Cheryl- I am excited to say that my Sculpted Sisterhood shirt finally fits me. Weight gain after 4 surgeries stopped me from being able to wear it. I have been waiting years to wear it and now I can. Always makes me feel like the voices are with me...
-
10/11 Went to the mall to get our family pictures taken and forgot to bring my wheelchair so I actually walked through the mall with the cane and my right leg (fractured last year due to bone mets) feels like a rock right now!

I cycled about 25 miles. All was fine until the last 2 miles when the torrential downpours hit. Character building.
Which reminded me to get my serious raincoat to the dry cleaners. Long chat with an old friend whose reconstruction surgery has finally worked out. Major celebration.
Now, waiting for the flavors to meld on a final Salade Nicoise for the season. It looks just lovely with the tomatoes, beans, other veggies, eggs, and breathtakingly expensive canned tuna.
Looked up mint sauce to do with the mint before it dies for the season. Planning rack of lamb for my guy so want to take advantage of what is out on the deck. He will appreciate the gesture if not the sauce.
Got a ton of root veggies at the market as that season now. Just a couple more weeks. But ready for all this.
Another fun ride for the AM. Then back to reality and planning for my NYC trip which is in 11 days. I need to have it all in order.
Good night everyone... - Claire

Great Aurora, really good to read positive results to working out!
Ran the Ashford 10k this morning with a 1:07:31 time. It was a large turn out with 954 runners with 309 being women and ranked 274 with the women. A whole minute slower than my last 10k. Oh well, happy to finish and enjoyed the run.
-
Well the only excercise I got yesterday was walking in the grocery store for odds and ends and then down to the corner store to get milk because we forgot all about it when we were out earlier. Didn't discover that little fun thing until I was prepping potatoes for dinner!
So today is laundry today. Tommorrow is change out the seasonal wardrobes!
-
Good morning my Sculpted Sisters! Finally caught up on this thread. Everyone is doing so well! Hooray for The Voices!!
California Dreaming II: check in is 6/15 and check out is 6/19.
Been walking nearly every day including break time @ work. Logging 37.5 miles since I couldn't post for more than a week. Been cold mornings but afternoons are lovely and the fall foliage is spectacular.
Taking mom and MIL out for brunch today. Happy Sunday everyone! ♥
-
I forgot dh's birthday last week - just plain slipped my mind. Fortunately I'd bought a card a few weeks prior, so he at least had that! Felt awful but he was easy-going about it - guess he figures he gets one free pass on my b-day sometime!

Lyzzy - smart to have that weird heart thing checked out - it may be just the way the machines are set up, but why not check it out just to be sure. Auroaya - sounds like the walk in the mall was challenging, but you did it - good for you. Lilac - I think your 10K is fabulous!! Badger - enjoy your brunch!
Seven mile run early yesterday morning with the running group - it was 52 degrees and pouring rain the entire time. Here we are at the end - soaked, muddy, cold - and exhilarated!
Did some outside chores yesterday and doing more today. The realtor's photographer is coming to do exterior shots at the end of the week so we want everything looking its best. Even though we're not going to put the house on the market till March, the realtor suggested taking exteriors now so we can show off the pool, gardens, and trees while they still have color.
-
Woohooo Ginger that is great, the shirts wash and wear really well and yes I too always think of everyone when I'm wearing it, those darned voices keep us motivated LB and Mary great job on the runs, a couple of my friends are running the Long Beach half marathon today, my contribution was posting cheerleader pictures on their FB pages, I'm a couch to ipad type of gal Aurora you took on the mall challenge and showed it who's boss. Badger dates are marked in my calendar, LB will you be here then? Lyzzysmom good idea to get it checkout out. This morning did Body Pump class, need to start working on my strength again, those bicep curls were very challenging and lunges well my poor knees were screaming, I must remember to take my glucosamine as it does help.
-
Yester day I walked 3 miles in an hour. Today is my rest day.
