Bone Scan results!

Options

The bone scan identified and confirmed that it's just Osteoarthritis in my left hip. However, there's also a non-specific area in the sternum. The Radiologist reported that she was "not unduly concerned" but, given my history, I should have a CT. The Breast care nurse freaked me out by asking if I'd hurt myself in that area -no!. Further, it obviously didn't show on the last bone scan 16-18 months ago.

Has anyone else had a similar unsettling result? Currently there is a two week wait for CT, then the wait for results....

Bumping up in hope of a reply!

The hospital phoned this morning with a cancellation appointment for the CT tomorrow at 10:30.

I don't have the same exact experience, but I did have a "spot" identified on a recent MRI which they wanted to look at with ultrasound. They ended up being unable to find it with the ultrasound and attributed it to a false positive reading from the MRI (which apparently is not uncommon). Hoping for the same type of thing for you with the bone scan and so glad that you got the CT moved up. Please keep us posted - thoughts are with you as you wait!

Hi, I'm new to these boards and this is the first time iv been able to respond to a direct question.

After my recurrence was discovered in may, I've had the nuclear bone scan and CT. The Bone scan showed up a spot on my right hip. I had an MRI this past Monday to investigate further. They did say it could be bursitis (?)

So now I'm awaiting MRI results. Takes far too long doesn't it?

Best of luck with your CT

Hi and thanks for your responses! I think tomorrow may turn into a version of Wacky Races. Originally I had a 10:10 appointment with the Orthopaedic surgeon (when I'm hoping he's finally going to put me on the list for a replacement hip). Now I have the CT at 10:30 in another hospital, 18 odd miles away, so have managed to change the Ortho appointment to 9:10 - let's hope they don't run late!

Yes, the waiting for results is hideous. Have you tried phoning your Breast Nurse? Mine is great at chasing people for results. I've read quite a lot about hip stuff and know that Bursitis is quite painful. If that is confirmed, get your GP to get you to the Orthopaedic bods asap!

    Good luck with your results.x

I'm sorry, I know its not funny but the "wacky races" thing did make me smile! Must keep sense of humour... Must keep sense of humour... :)

My MRI was only on Monday, so I'll give it a while before chasing results. It will happen though, as my next onc appt isn't until 25th November!!! After seeing the gynaecologist yesterday, who informed me I'm being put on the list for oophorectomy which should be within 3/4 weeks, I'm doing a kind of slow motion wacky race myself. (I know, that sounds odd, haha)

I've been referred for a DXA scan, in a Cpl of weeks so I believe in already on the orthopaedic radar. Who knows? Have had so many medical appointments lately I cant keep up.

Good luck with your juggling tomorrow. Sending cyber vibes for your clinics to be running on time.
