Well, you guys looked cute anyway!

Went to Yoga this morning, then got my flu shot & picked up branches in the yard for an hour (wind storm over the weekend....getting in shape for the upcoming leaf raking season). Zumba in a few minutes.
-
wow, thanks for the reminder to get a flu shot, Ruth. Took a nice walk this morning, and running up and foen stairs today!!!
-
Yup, get the flu shot taken care of girls!
-
Getting mine next time I go to the onco.
-
Oh Heidi I need to join you on the bosu only problem is I can't even stand on the darned thing wobble wobble wobble, and I feel I'm losing my upper body strength so I need to get back into some weight bearing stuff along with all my dancing, it's just that I love all this darned dancing. Oh Mary what a cute pic of you and M, yesterday you were all bundled up at the your stadium and we were peeling clothes off at our stadium and what a flip/flop baseball in winter clothes and football in summer clothes.
Did Sh'bam this morning, guess I am just the "Dancing Queen"

-
Mary!!! Such a wonderful picture!! Hubby and I watched all 18 innings!! What a game!!!
-
18 innings wow. That's getting your money's worth!
I did a walk at lunch and one after work with my son and dog - 57 minutes total.
Going to bed early. Only slept about 5 hours last night.
-
Here is a picture of the 4 mile walk we did yesterday. Old rail trail converted to a walking path. Gorgeous fall weather. Today I did a 4 mile run after school. Did my best time for the first 3 miles but back was cramping so the last mile was at a slower pace.

-
10/6- got up early and to my personal training session today a 7 a.m. which was a circuit training of weight and strength training for legs, upper body and abs.
Ginger- love the fall photo. I am originally from CT, and miss the fall in New England......
-
One hour of LiveStrong class. I can tell I'm getting stronger.
Love the fall pic, thanks for sharing!
-
Wonderful walking/running path pictures!
Nationals won tonight, so Mary should be feeling a little more rejuvenated!!!
-
Great picture Mary. You guys look great in your gear.
Ginger, you have the best running trails! Great fall picture.
Ruth, wtg on the flu shot reminder. My work gives them to employees each year so I am set to get mine next Wednesday.
Claire, glad you have a guy who makes you proud.
Switched up my schedule a bit this week and went to bootcamp tonight instead of tomorrow.
Have s great night all!
-
jazzygirl, I like the idea of a mantra!Thank you!! I think I may have found a solution, kind of. In obsessing over the kitkats I forgot I had chocolate Vitatops in the freezer that only have 90 calories and kill the craving!
I did 20 mins on a cross training machine followed by 30 min session with trainer today. Its an odd machine that really blasts the calories. My trainer left so I got the head trainer today for my last 2 half hour sessions and he included about 20 mins of TRX training that I had never heard of before. I felt muscles in my forearms I had not used in years since my windsurfing days!! Of course the TRX did not help my steps on my FITBIT but it was a tough workout (for me). The only problem is I cant just do it on my own as they keep them under lock and key for the training sessions as people have taken them. Also it is very easy to fall flat on your face or back if you don't do it properly!!
I have to try and at least go for a walk tomorrow as its a work from home day and Wednesdays and Thursdays are long days in the office so I tend not to exercise those days (just 10 min walk at lunchtime) .I think I may try the Monday evening Zumba class once my personal training finishes although I wish it was in the morning as I like to just hunker down at night and it means a drive in the dark but I have a zumba dvd and think it would be fun.
-
5k run tonight just before it got dark. Lovely fall scent in the woods and breathtaking moonrise. Still need to do my weights and dinner.
Working on my introductory speech for Toastmasters which is tomorrow noon. Title is "The Empty Chair", the point being that it's not empty because I am still here. We need more chairs that aren't empty. This is for brain cancer, but of course it's for all of us.
I love this time of year.
My NYC trip is starting to shape up. Will get to see some of my old friends and business contacts. Important to stay connected. Plus learn what's new and on trend.
Can't wait for my new rug to arrive, but suspect will be early next week. Already looking forward to skiing. My guy and I are talking about hut skiing sometime around my birthday in early February. I can't think of anything more fun.
But right now, to savor the pleasures of October. (Note that I stay away from the pink which you don't see in the woods anyway.) Besides, I have too much going on to worry anyway.
Such as my favorite ride for next Sunday. Did someone mention database, invoicing, database, press release, and finalizing 2013 taxes?????? - Claire
-
Aurora, so sweet of you to offer to help me on the Spanish. Muchas gracias. Love the pics, Mary and Ginger. Claire, wow on 20 miles for your guy.
Cheryl, my sentiments exactly. I'll try to do that bosu workout again instead of Zumba tonight. Last night I did BodyJam. It was with another instructor who was still doing release 70.
-
Yesterday we had no power so ride and walk on treadmill were out. Then it was doc time. By the time I got home, all I could do was crash. Today I started with a one hour ride and it is such a better day already. Ahhhh
-
Iyzzysmom, TRX is hard -well done. Ginger, lovely run and Mary, you and DH are darling. Odie, you miss the pool? Good going Ann and HeidiHill, how many languages do you speak? TwoHobbies, hope you feel more rested and Claire, that is a nice way to spend a birthday.
Body balance this morning, just in from a 5k run and yoga tonight with our boy.
-
Gonna work out tonight after dinner on the Gazelle for a change!
-
So hard to keep up with this thread these days, it just flys by! so I'm jumping back in...
Went to gym yesterday and did upper body and run/walk intervals. Back into my routine of walking at lunch, and some classical stretch in the mornings. Still having much trouble sleeping through the night, so tonight I am trying melatonin to see if that helps.
Mary, I am not a baseball follower, but did see that your Nats are still in it!
-
Holy Cow, I suprised myself by doing 20 minutes on the Gazelle tonight!
-
Did Couch to 5k program then walked another 90 min. Had some green juice at a juice bar for the first time....kale,apples, carrots, not bad! Thinking of growing wheatgrass and buying a juicer.
-
Wonderful workout with trainer today. 5 reps of sit ups, overhead squats, and lat pulls with 25 lb weight (decided to revel that I can do that much already). Warm up and cool down was stretches and time on elliptical. Good day.
-
Lilacblue, I so miss my pool. Love that your son continues to enjoy yoga with you.
Teacher, wtg! You're doing great.
My exercise today was 25 minutes on the Elliptical plus weights.
-
This evening I did 45 mins on a cross trainer and a few minutes of free weights. Its tough keeping up the program and getting to the gym at least 3 or 4 times a week but I am noticing a difference. My weight has been stable this week and I feel a little thinner and firmer so its encouraging.
-
Went to my livestrong class which consisted of an hour of strengthening, light weights and balancing. I burned a few cals tonight the awesome fluids!
Aurora
-
Mommyof2 - congrats on your workout on the Gazelle!
auroaya - It took 4 calls to the YMCA to at least get someone to actively attempt to help me find out if I can join the LiveStrong program there. Based on what someone else said I think they may only offer it during the time I am at work but I figured it was worth contacting the Y to find out if they are offering it any other time. It sounds like your program is very good!
lyzzysmom - I love that feeling when you know your body is getting firmer from exercise. I haven't felt it much or in a long time - ha, ha - so I am hoping to start feeling that way as I try to get into an exercise routine.
For me - I did some stretches and 20 minutes on the stationary bike tonight.
-
A rare 'no time to exercise' day for me. Subbed, went to coffee with a teacher friend after school & then to a volleyball match. I will double up tomorrow, I promise!
-
Did half an hour of an RPM class followed by another night of dancing at Body Jam
-
no exercise + bad food choices = me being wide awake at 2 am. Ugh!
Planning to run after school...
-
Whew - a few whirlwind days of baseball but sadly my Nats went down to defeat late last night. Congrats to the SF Giants, a great team, and go get those Cards! And at least I'll start getting my life back now that I'm not living from baseball game to baseball game.
We had our interval track training last night - 5 miles of interval work in the pouring rain. The rain actually felt very refreshing, but my shoes sure were squishy by the end!
And you'd think after 32 years of marriage I'd have learned to never diet with my DH. Three weeks ago we took an honest look at the scale and admitted that over the last couple of years I'd gained about 10 pounds and he'd gained about 15. With this running clinic pushing us to run more, we thought it was a good time to really watch our diets as well to see if we could drop some of that weight. Of course you know the results - I've lost 4 pounds so far while he's dropped 11.
And he's even cheated on the diet more than I have. It's just not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
