What about next week? Could we do it then? That would be Oct. 10th we could meet at the Panera Bread at Waterford Lakes in N. Alafaya Trail? I might need a ride though so really any place convenient to you is fine with me.

HomeMom, I live on McLean Ct which is off valencia college ln and 408, that's why I suggested Waterford Lakes because it's not so far from here but anywhere else would be fine if I can get a ride.

Oh that's all right jbokland you all can still meet on the 17th. I'm leaving to visit my parents in Mexico on the 17th and returning on the 30th so I won't be able to meet you all this month but you should go ahead and meet without me and maybe next month we can do it again when I come back.

    Hi Ladies,

I've been on the September surgery board and am glad to find this group.  I am two weeks out from a bilateral mastectomy.  My BS was confident that all Cancer was removed and nodes were clear, but it didnt go as planned.   A .4mm cancer was found on the outside of a node so chemo is next.  I will have 8 weeks of AC and 12 of Taxol.  My Oncologist is Dr. Molthrop at the Cancer Institute.  I don't have a start date but they are thinking the first week of November so I have a chance to really heal.  All of my treatment and physicians are in Orlando, but I actually live in Volusia.  Would really like to connect with this group.

llovecoasters, welcome to the Orlando thread, even though it's been a few years for me since chemo but I am interested in connecting with other BC friends here in Orlando and nearby cities, we are trying to plan a get together but haven't been able to come up with a date that everyone can make it. I am sure HomMom and Jbokland can share with you their experiences with chemo since they are closer to the date. When I went through chemo I was living in Houston and was lucky that the side effects were not that bad considering what others go through, I did loose all my hair and felt quasy and weak but was able to continue working through it. I hope you also make it through with not too many side effects, although loosing ones hair is bad enough.

    Sending you (((hugs)))

Is anyone up for the 10th. Love coasters, is that the Florida hospital cancer  institute? I had my second chemo there. I think I saw the name when I wa at dr. Zehngebot's yesterday.  I had my first chemo at ORMC now UF cancer institute and my second bout at Florida hospital.   Sorry about my typing!

I wish I could do the 10th, but cannot!

Welcome Lovecoaster.  I had my chemo at Fl. Cancer Institute with Dr. Alamony. My daughter also works in that office, so I felt well connected. However, I was very disappointed in the chemo suite.  its very old and like a chemo factory....so many people needing chemo!   They are getting ready to remodel.  I finished my chemo in June and my radiation in August.  I am in the process of refilling my TE's after having them deflated for Rads...hopefully recon. will be in December.

I am deeply involved with Libby's Legacy here in Orlando.  We provide free mammograms for under- insured or uninsured patients and then provide support services if diagnosed. I am now a board member for them, as well!

I have also been involved as a patient advocate for Amendment 2.  I spoke last night to a group and opened for John Morgan.  Honestly, I have no idea how I have become so involved with all this stuff lately!!

Ibrewer, I am up for the 10th if you want to meet. I'll be leaving on the 17th to go to Mexico visit parents so I won't be able to meet until next month. So if anyone else wants to we could meet on the 10th and then meet again with jbokland on another date, or if it's too complicated go ahead and meet without me.

I forgot I have to go find a princess big wheel on Friday. My grand daughters birthday is Saturday and I completely forgot to order her present. Now amazon is 20 higher, so I am out for 10th.

I too was disappointed in Florida chemo suite. ORMC was nicer but dr shah would not let me use cold caps. Staff at Florida was great tho. Supervisor insisted they allow me more time in case cold cap changing too longer and they let me use my electric blanket.

Jbokland, Vanessa's last name is pederson.  She is very active with brides against breast cancer

Hello Iloverollercoasters! I finished Chemo Sept 5th. I was at Florida Hospital with Dr. Shroff. I had DD A/C and then 8 Taxol treatments (every other week for 2 months). A/C was tougher then the Taxol, but I did work through it. I was home for about 5 days and then worked through to the next treatment. Drink a LOT of water for both. I loved watermelon on A/C, I could taste it and it was hydrating.

Jbok - Dr Dvarck (sp) threatened me with deflation. I had my sim on Monday and he said he might be calling me the next day to let me know I have to get that done. The nurse said if I didn't hear from them my first appt is Friday(10th). I didn't hear from him but am now worried I missed his call or something! He just wants you flat for the mid chest area I guess, so I wonder why I haven't heard from him. He wasn't too optimistic I would not need to deflate. What a bummer!

I was deflated.  It was disappointed at first but enjoyed the tension relief!  I was 800cc /700cc.    I am now being re inflated and not looking forward to it.

He always calls personally!  Great Doc, Lolita is wonderful and I love the techs.       I consider everyone there my friends!

Make sure you stop by Harriets Botique while your there. Nice items for breast cancer patients and you see Sassy Head there.  (Eden Spa just started to carry it too)

Harriets boutique is in the hospital on S. Orange? I have another PT appt on Tuesday at Eden Spa. I'll look for it! My fuzzies are turning brown now so it looks like the hair thing is gaining speed!

I was given the choice to deflate or not. He said it was better then he thought but not optimal. I have to call by 9am - my appointment is at 10 this morning for mapping. I could still have scarring if I continue with the TE inflated. Trying to decide!

Thanks Auroaya.  I decided to deflate - delaying it a couple weeks isn't going to hurt.
