Need your help...Lymphedema Products NYC?
Argh. My arm and hand have been in great control since May. I've been wrapping at night over my tribute but haven't needed daytime compression. I'm in NYC because my daughter had surgery and 2 days ago my hand just blew up.I wanted to wear my sleeve and glove but can't find my glove. I also don't have my finger wraps with me. This morning my hand was more swollen after I removed my tribute. I am in NYC and I can't find a retail location for LE products. How can a city this size not have a retail location? If any of you have any suggestions about what to use for modified finger wraps or know where I can buy LE products in NYC, I would really appreciate your input.

Toomuch, bummer!
This from StepUp-SpeakOut:
7) You can try mild compression gloves by either Edema Control Gloves,Imak, Dritz Crafters Comfort Gloves, or Isotoner® Fingerless Therapeutic Gloves if your hands and/or fingers are swollen until your appointment with your lymphedema therapist.
Or in your case, until you can find your glove. You can usually buy Imak or Isotoner at any pharmacy. (While you're there, pick up some chocolate, yes?) Hope your daughter's doing well!
Hugs,

toomuch: are you in Manhattan? If so, try Falk Surgical supplies. 1167 1st Ave. 212-744-8080 Not too far from Memorial Sloan Kettering (the map looks like 63rd and 1st,,, call first, cuz when I lived there, they were on 72nd and 1st)I used to buy other types of surgical supplies from them, but according to their website, they say they have male and female fitters and "liposuction" garments.

I knew that I could depend on you ladies!
Binney - thanks so much for the OTC suggestions. I got a Fingerless arthritis glove at CVS today for a quick fix. It actualy fels pretty good. My daughter is having a really quick recovery. Thanks for your well wishes!
Glennie - I was on the west side today and couln't get to Falk surgical but I called them and they do carry LE sleeves and gloves. Thanks so much for letting me know about them. When I googled retail Lympedema compression products Manhatten, nothiing came up.My daughter has follow-up on the east side tomorrow so I'll head over there after her appointment. It's still mind boggling that there is only one store that sells off the shelf products in Manhatten.
Next time I travel, I'll be sure to check and recheck my LE bag to be sure that I have everything.

Toomuch: glad that your daughter is doing well and that you found something at CVS! It's so weird on Falk's site that it is listed as "liposuction" garments!! What the heck???? No wonder you did not find it under "lymphedema". When you go there, you might mention it to them! I bet they would want to change that so people can find it under Google. I hope they have what you need. -
I go to Falk, they do a great job, though it can be very disorganized. There is some place out in Great Neck, also I think there is a place in Chelsea.
When I was treated for LE at MSK, the therapists ordered garments directly.
