thank you Jazzy for the encouragement. It helps me because I am very committed to losing weight in order to discourage this chit from returning. I think research supports that being overweight is a risk factor. Also I feel so much better when I'm in shape! You'll be proud of me I just took my evening walk!
Bippy sent her husband off to the race track tonight with the boys. It is so peaceful here in the neighborhood tonight, and the weather is turning cooler.
Since I am still only interested in eating crap right now, tomorrow I am making what is known as a dump cake. It's quite easy and very delicious. I love to bake when it's cool out. I may post a picture tomorrow. Have a wonderful night Hermies!

Hi hermits- lovely fall day here, but I was low energy today. I have not slept well in two nights, but took a nice walk late afternoon with a friend and her 4 year old (who is always excited to see me). I saw them a few weeks ago at his birthday party, and he remembered I was there too! Good exercise and nice visit. I hope the walk will help me to sleep better tonight (sometimes exercise does.....)
Came home to make some grilled salmon in in the oven and sauted bok choy to go with it. Going to go to bed early tonight and hopefully wake up refreshed tomorrow.
Bippy- yes, keep our weight down will reduce our risks going forward. Part of the reason I am doing it, but also for over all health. I am on a couple meds I think I can get off of if I get some weight off too. Congrats on doing a walk today too! How did that feel (good, hard, other?)
Curious to know what is in dump cake?
Teka- when do you get your first snow in north country? We can get snow in the mountains here in town by Halloween-ish. Couple years ago it snowed during balloon fiesta time (now) which was very unusual.
Blondie, Lili, Mags, Mommy, Cami, Monis, Maiden, and everyone else, hope you had a good day and sleep well everyone!
-
Jazzy, snow as early as October!
We never give in to the Winter, until after Halloween.
-
Was a total hermit today. Stayed in my pjs all day and spent day in bed watching season 2 of Roseanne. Tomorrow I'll be driving to Reedsburg to visit my best friend from high school and her mom and dad. Looking forward to the visit but not the hour forty five minute drive there.
Hope all you wonderful ladies have a restful night.
-
Maiden, will feel good to get out and about with friends.
Enjoy the day!!!

Ladies Hi I'm not caught up yet, but I'm trying.
I forgot who's furbaby that was so so cute. And believe it or not I know what a dump cake is, but I kinda forgot right now. I think u just throw everything that u need in the baking pan and mix and put it in the oven. Easy Peasy that's why I know.
Jazzy the balloon festival is so fun to watch, never in one and wouldn't either but they are up up and away.
Oh I went to the Drs. and of course my electrolytes are all goofed up and my thyroid is not working. And she wants a scan of my ribs and shoulder---one rib rubs her the wrong way every time. LOL Oh I was standing at the front desk checking in and my pants fell down to my ankles and I had depends on--so I turned around and said Welcome to my world u get to share it now. And picked up my pants and acted like nothing happened, what was I going to do? Anyway now I have a reason why I've been so lazy, of course 3 new meds are being added--Jeez I'm back up to 15 different kinds again And I wonder why I feel so floopy all the time.
Hey Teka
Muah to all of u, my puter is still a mess..

Good morning!
-
Lovely photo!!
Lily, feel like, trying to ride a tricycle in a barrel of molasses?
-
Teka- we don't usually get real winter here until late November, or Dec at the earliest, usually closer to Xmas. Just first snow tends to top the mountains here around end of October. I hope it does not snow in Nov, as traveling family won't make the trip if that happens, and Jazzy is already planning the meal and the table setting!
Lili-sorry you are not sleeping. That will wear you out pretty quickly. Can you take anything to help with sleep?
Blondie- I go through periods where I sleep fine and others where I do not. Might have a tad of anxiousness with going back to work and with some of my mixed feelings after my last contract with these folks. But I have thought through my strategy to go in, do my work, and go. I am going to practice the art of professional detachment like never before.
Cami-sorry you are up early and sorry about your pants falling down in the doctors office. You seem to handle it in stride, but know that must have felt uncomfortable for you.
Trying to post some pics for you of the fall gardens. More soon!
-
Mums in bloom in the front yard and back.
-
Seedums in front and back yard.
-
Trees are starting to change here slowly.
-
love the pics. I've accomplished nothing today. Have a bit of a migraine, my first since all this crap started.
So I've wasted a lot of time napping and sort of watching this movie called Rose Red by Stephen King. What a torturously long and tedious piece of trash! But do I stop watching it? Hell no, I'm in it for spite at this point. I wish this haunted house would just kill all these people already, and be done with it, they are getting on my nerves.
Ate some cheerios dark chocolate cereal, i highly recommend it. Off to take headache meds, so much for getting out today. Weather is gorgeous though, at least we have the house open!
-
Bippy- funny, Steven King's The Shining has been on HBO lately. I remember how everyone made such a big deal about that movie being SO scary. I never saw it when it came out (1980s?) but did later. When I watch it now, I think there is way more scary movie stuff than that! I don't think his movies are all that scary, always liked the books better!
Sorry you have a headache and hope you feel better tomorrow. Drink lots of water, always good for headaches.
I am cleaning and cooking today. For dinner today, but also for the week ahead as I get back to work (I have to think a bit again in advance). Made some yummy grilled veggies with various kinds of eggplant and squash I got from the farmers market last weekend, and some parmesan topped pork tenderloin in the oven (so tender). I like to bring my lunch with me to the client site (salads) and have that ready, but also now have some meals for the evenings when I am working.
Mommy- I read your quote on the bottom of your last post. Were you in the military?
Instead of going to the gym today, I am going to take a bike ride later as it is a beautiful day and must get some outdoor exercise in before it ends.

Onco- Those with blood pressure sensitivities can get lightheaded easily in the hot water, but no doubt other situations may create a similar issue. Hot tubs and hot springs are not for everyone. Just putting the jets on your feet and ankles can be more than enough though. I go in after swimming and usually put the jets on my always stiff feet. Hope it helps you to feel better.
Glad DH had a good birthday too!
-
Jazzy several members of my family including hubby were military. Always been a huge supporter of the military!
-
Mommy- I figured you might have a family with a lot of military participation. I too support the military, and the USO is one of my favorite charities. I have a 25 year old nephew in the Army.
-
-
Well between everyone that has served in my family, we can count well over 100 years if not more. I still have a few cousins and my favorite SIL who are still in the service.
-
Good morning. Up early and going to personal training at 7 a.m. then to my first day on the new contract.
Cami- this one is for you!
-
so cute!
-
jazzy, have a great day! Enjoy the new contract work.
Feeling so much better today. Rallied last night and made a cake and an actual dinner for DH. Weather is beautiful here, 4 more days till next chemo, can eat whatever the hell I want without paying the price. So I am going to try and enjoy it! Lots of cleaning to do but I'm getting out of the house as well.
Happy Monday Hermies!

*Good Morning Hermits*
Jazzy, lovely Fall photos and no need for Winter weather until 2015. USO
Bippy, I also watched the stupid movie.
Onco, I never miss a chance to soak cold neuropathy feet in anything with hot water jets.
M0, my husband served 4 years in the military.
I've been keeping busy with Fall outdoor clean-up.
