    ER-PR-HER2+++, 8 of 15 nodes.

    Holding my breath.

    My onc says if you make it to 3 years from the end of herceptin, that is very positive.

    If you have recurrence before one year elapses from end of herceptin, that means herceptin may not work for you.

    Hence I am holding my breath till April 2013.

    However, I work out every day, 30 minutes minimum, as that is suggestive of lowering risk of recurrence.

    And include in my diet every day - Sencha green tea, onions, garlic, berries, turmeric with some pepper, and cabbage family vegetables. Omega 3 fish twice a week.

    I cherish my life!

    That sounds pessimistic, what your onco said. Mine only said the chance of recurrence for me was about 25% within ten yrs. Must depend on other factors like size of tumor, lymph nodes etc.

    It's such a sober subject, it's hard to talk about. On the bright side, I know that exercise and nutrition up the odds in our favor tremendously! Good for you for taking care like that. I have been trying too, but the chemo has limited my ability to work out these last several weeks. I am looking forward to rebuilding my strength now that the last round is behind me. I will start radiation at the end of this month.

    Best wishes to you! Thanks for posting. -Elizabeth

    I am new also, my sister has just been diagnosed with her 2 positive breast cancer with a positive lymph node.  some of you have had a number of lymph nodes removed.  why some have 1 removed and some have many?  It's good to hear that many of you have had positive results from your treatment and I pray my sister has the same.  Did the treatments make any of you very ill?

    Welcome to Breastcancer.org  smpw.  We're glad you found us.

    We're sure you'll have some responses from this Community. Of course we strongly urge you to discuss your concerns with your sister and her doctor, as we can't offer a medical diagnosis. You also have not said what type of breast cancer was found.

    You may also find some assistance talking with others in the For Caregivers, Family, Friends and Supporters Forum.

    We wish your sister the best and to you also.
