Mastectomy and radiation

My mom stage 2 bc, grade 3. Mastectomy and chemo.  I would like to hear from women similarly situated who also had radiation and your reasons for same.  Thank you.

    My stats are the same.  I did 25 rads and no boosts.  Reason for radiation was the report from the mastectomy showed residual DCIS and about 5mm of tumor was left following chemo but it was located right against the chest wall.  It wasn't bad, no burns and my reconstruction of the radiated side has gone well.

    Your mom will have to make her own decision with the guidance of her doctors.

    Hi, 

    I had rads as well. Mine was due to a positive DCIS margin (superior aspect).  I will also have the axilla radiated as I had a positive node.
