Ladies in their 30s

HI there! I'm 32 diagnosed on Friday. I have a 7 year old son and a husband of 16 years. We have been fighting non stop since last night. He has never known anyone with cancer. Its been exhausting. I just want to get this out of my body and get on with my life.
-
Thanks boxofrockstar. It is so frustrating isn't it? We have had a few good days now so I'm going to push it but he will need an outlet eventually.
-
Coblndie, I am so sorry to hear about your Dx. I am 31 and I got my Dx 1 month ago. I know how scary it is. My husband did not know what to do or how to act. Fortunately, his family has been extremely supportive to him who helped educate him and he went to all big doc appointments where he was reassured. It was still really tough for him so my mother came to town and took me to a few of my "minor" appointments for tests and images (where decisions weren't being made) and he was able to resume his life a little bit and his personality switched back, thankfully.
I still see the stressed out, angry, irritable young husband. We might be fortunate because we are newly weds and only were married 5 months ago. Maybe our marriage being so new keeps us from fighting too much, but we I feel ok I do everything I can to take care of him and when I'm not he is taking care of me. Hope this is helpful.
-
I had surgery yesterday. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Still really scary though.
-
Coop-congrats! It is scary looking up at all those people and knowing you have no control over the next few hours! But you did it
Tip: I'd stay up on the stool softners if you have taken anything for nausea and pain.

Hi NurseShark - I was dx at 19 weeks, too! It has not been fun, to say the least, but baby is still doing great. I'm also on 4 rounds of AC, induction a month after the last round, then maybe Taxol, then radiation (reeeeally hoping not to need the Taxol). Also crazy tired over here, and have hit the point where I can't sleep. How is your baby doing otherwise?
-
. Baby is doing great so far!!!! Had ultrasound this week he was 2lb 9oz. He was head down too I hope he stays that way!! Plan is to induce labor around Nov 7-14 ...

Hi, I am 39 married with two kids 14 & 2. I got diagnosed 1 month ago, had a lumpectomy 2 weeks ago and got the result of clear margins
I see my oncologist Thursday for my treatment plan. -
I have a question did most girls here took the pill?
-
I was on the pill for 3 months total. Found my mass 8 months after I stopped breastfeeding
-
hi melonie,
I was on the pill for about 15 years then changed to an IUD 3 months before being diagnosed... Makes one think, there are way too many of us thirty something's out there with breast cancer. I have a 5 and 6 year old, don't know how much they understand, they just keep asking when I'm going to be done being sick. It's a lot to juggle, but getting through it. Finished chemo 3 weeks ago tomorrow, and already had 4 radiation treatments. I just can't wait to be done! I am curious how many of us out there who ate positive for estrogen and progesterone were on the pill???
-
I didn't took the pill and I am ER, pr positive. But I was diagnosed during pregnancy .
-
Hmm, I was on the pill for about 10 years total, am E & P positive, and diagnosed during pregnancy.
-
I was on the pill for 12 years and am ER +. I was diagnosed at 35. I d
-
I was on the pill or ring from around 18-30, diagnosed at 36, at 6 months post-pregnancy with my first baby. I'm ER + (high), PR+ (low). I was breastfeeding at the time of diagnosis.
-
It was my understanding that the most common current Birth control pills are the low dose/mini pill and that they went to those to reduce the breast cancer risk. I read a recent study that said that the low dose birth control pills do not raise the risk of BC. But now I can't find that study. I found my cancer when I stopped breastfeeding.
-
I don't really know if being on the pill caused my cancer, but I do believe it feed it. My tumor might not have grown as fast as it did if I wasn't on the pill. I have as on the highest dose that you could be on.
-
I was on various bcp pills from age 14-29 ( abt 18 yrs)... dx with lcis a couple of months ago..38 now (39 next month)
-
I was on birth control pill(ortho tri cycling lo) for 10 years. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer while pregnant
-
I was on the pill for about 18 years because of endometriosis and switched to a "pill similar" treatment without estrogen 3 years ago. I am 37.
-
I was on the pill for 10+ years and I know if fed my cancer. I'm 33 years old was diagnosis at 32 with IBC.
-
Hi I'm 38, almost 39 now. Diagnosed March 2013 at 37. Closest thing I have to children and probably ever will have is my beautiful black cat and his equally crazy puppy brother.
-
So sorry M0mmyof2. I was diagnosed in March also. Just got done with surgery. How are you doing now? I had my double mast on Sept 10
-
Doing very well considering I am on the targeted therapy. Still waiting for reconstruction. My double mastectomy was Sept. 26, 2013
-
I just found this group today after I joined the website a couple days ago. I found a lump over the summer and my radiologist blew me off and said you're only 35 you're not old enough to have breast cancer. Well fast-forward about seven weeks three biopsies a lumpectomy and I'm now a patient at MD Anderson hospital in Houston and will be having a double mastectomy with reconstruction at the end of the month. My husband has been very supportive through this, 14-year-old daughter is very worried but has been great through all of this but I think my nine-year-old son is taking it the hardest. I'm glad to say I found this group but it's kind of scary how many of us are "apparently too young for cancer"
-
MomD,
wishing you the best in your fight.

Hi Ladies, I am 37 mom of 3 boys, and diagnosed with IDC this summer, almost have not had mammografy as physician thought I am too young and should ot be exposed to radiation if not necessary ( I had radiation in the past), if not the mammo test I would still have my breasts not even imagining what is hiding in one of them... my breast USG was perfect, no concerns there...
-
10 years on the pill for me. Then two pregnancies and a long time breastfeeding. Found my lump a year after my youngest weaned.
