Fills and range of motion

I have two fills left and I'm getting a little nervous. After the fills I notice my range of motion takes a temporary hit. I'm worried about these last two not only for that, but because my back and side are killing me. I'm laying on a hot pad and stretching it out. Is there anything else I could be doing? I know the next couple of months are going to be tough, but I'm almost there! Its almost over.

I want to add that this site has been a life saver for me. I know NO ONE who has or has had breast cancer and I feel all alone most times. Until I get on here. I've been lurking for a couple months but couldn't figure out how to post on my dang Nook or I would've sooner.

I just had what the doctor promises will be my last fill and this time, I do notice that it feels as if my arm is hitting on something.  He assures me that the real implant will not be like this and that they have to overfill because they have no way of knowing how much the muscle will drop down or contract or something, once the expander is removed.  I have had more pain with this than with any of the prior fills. I am like you, I don't know anyone personally who has had reconstruction so don't have anybody to compare stories with.Did you have a double mastectomy?

    Hi angelia50,

I had a double mastectomy. The cancer was in the right side so I agonized over doing both but was so glad I did because when the pathology report came back, there was "suspicious" cell activity in the left. I am just so sore and tight in the morning these days, I'm scared for my Monday fill! I'm afraid I'm going to break something inside. lol Especially in the morning. I can barely get out of bed. It all loosens up during the day but good grief. It feels like my pec muscle is never going to be anything but rock hard ever again.

I understand that arm hitting on something sensation. I feel like I walk around like a gorilla sometimes. All hunched over with my arms off my sides.

kayb, would you mind explaining what exactly "cording" is?  I keep seeing that in other post on different threads, but I'm not sure what is or what it would possibly feel like.

    Thanks!
