What was your HER2? My mom just got hers back and it was 1.8 which isn't positive or negative as far as I can see. Not sure what this means as far as if she is trip negative or not.

Yes I tested 2+ in the initial testing but the FISH test said I was Her2 negative. That 2+ made me eligible for the Herceptin trial and I am in the Herceptin arm. I'm really happy to be in the trial because the thought is that there are her2 receptors on all tumors, some just express way more than others. I'm ready to block any and all fuel this cancer needs!!

I am just a 1.0. Does it seem positive to be able to be in the trial?

After I was diagnosed as TN, I looked at my pathology report that stated that I was slightly positive for HER2.  I was so excited thinking the doctor made a mistake, and I could take herceptin to decrease my chances of a recurrence.  Unfortunately he said that I was still TN, and did not offer further treatment after chemo.  That has been well over a year ago, and there seems to be a lot of new studies out for TN.  I am not sure about the side effects of herceptin, but I would be willing to take it for protection.  Thank you ladies for sharing this,  I will be calling my oncologist on Monday.

My sister is mTN but her new test shows HER2 at 2.I wonder if that qualifies her for herceptin. She has to undergo another biopsy as the sample taken from first biopsy was not enough for FISH test.negligent doctors!! I may add her new tests show  mild PR+ at 10%

yes, I was referred for this trial as well and am curious, but weekly herceptin + some type of immunization? I've got the study but am far too foggy to decide at this point, although my blood work came back as a match for the trial, Doc says he thinks I would benefit side effects are rashes on upper thighs? But for a year!!

Hi there, I am only slightly HER positive (+1). This chain is a little bit old, but I'm wondering if anyone else only slightly HER+ has looked into this trial further? (I'm currently triple negative). By the way, is this referring to the NeuVax trial?

    Thanks!
