Pain after 9 years?

In 2005 I was diagnosed with IDC of 16mm, had a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy followed by radiation, 18 months tamoxifen and 5 years of femara. I have lots of scar tissue on the lumpectomy site and so have had a further 2 surgical biopsies to rule out suspicious areas but were both benign. In the past month I now have stated to get pain, sometimes just a general ache but at other times a specific sore spot in that breast along with a dull ache in my arm and tingling through my elbow to my fingers. The sore spots are close to the lumpectomy scar. They are just tender areas and I cannot feel a specific lump. Could this be nerve pan after all these years? Has anyone else had this experience?

I still have residual nerve pain in my lumpectomy site, but it has only been about 18 months. Not sure if that many years from now, I will still have pain. Perhaps you have some scar tissue that has built up even more over the years? Not sure but hope you find some relief. This will bump the thread so someone else might see it.

I have something similar -- pain in the scar tissue around lumpectomy site and I am 6.5 yrs out
I have been sort of looking for a post like yours for the last week or two -- I don't see my surgeon or my oncologist any more, and I am pretty darned sure it's not cancer,
    but dang, it is uncomfortable.
And I find the tingling down my arm to be annoying.
I also had a seroma, and lately it feels like something is squirming in there.
No one ever said that this would continue annoying me
I am willing to leave cancerland behind --- why is my body being so tough about this?

I'm only about 8 weeks out from radiation, but I am having shooting pains and real soreness in my breast.  I also have a lump/scar tissue under the incision spot.  the pain is strange - some times it stops me in my tracks, but at the moment nothing.

it just comes and goes.   I have my 6 month mammogram this week and am very nervous about the pain they will cause me !!

I have got check up scheduled now for 3 weeks but I am so freaking out. Think I am going nuts as I cant pinpoint where the pain is coming from. Sometimes the lumpectomy scar area but then at other times it is no where near that. Somedays I think I can feel a hardness but then an hour or so later even that has disappeared. I wake up during the night and my whole breast is sore but in the morning it's OK.

    Fingers crossed........

Is a torn pectoral muscle. Apparently the radiation field skimmed my top rib bones and top of lung which has weakened this area. Specialist said what would be a muscle tinge in a non radiated person becomes a major sprain/strain in a radiated person.

Goodness, bondi, that sounds painful!  Glad to hear it was not anything worrisome, but what do they suggest you do about it?  Also, how did they diagnose it?  Ultrasound?

Will repair with rest. After describing where the pain was the doc asked me to lay on my back with my left hand pressing into my hip bone. He then pressed the spot where it was the sorest and I nearly hit the roof with the pain! Said he sees it a lot.
