Perhaps a silly clothing question

I wear a glove all the time and when we go out to eat it's nice to just be able to take it off so I can hold a burger... When I wear a sleeve and glove I don't like to remove only the glove for my hand puffs up with just the sleeve on. In the summer with short sleeves it's easy to slip them both off and on at the table and put them in my purse.  In the winter I'm wondering what you all do? Will I be having to go into the bathroom to remove them from under a long sleeve shirt, and then go back to put them back on? What do you do? Thanks!!

I have tried to eat hamburgers and hotdogs and messy sandwiches with my glove and it is impossible! Good way to soil your glove for the rest of the day and I bet the grease from the food is not good for your glove material either.

I guess you could put a food safe plastic glove over your glove but that screams attention. Can you try to wear a tee and a button down a sweater or hoody over top so you can strip the LE gear off at your seat without drawing attention.

This really sucks. Glad I can remove my glove. A huge sympathetic hug for you.

mcgis, would it work to remove the glove only shortly, then put it on again as soon as possible, or does the swelling start at once?

I like the idea of layering, with something underneath that makes the sleeve accessible. Of course that might mean a complete wardrobe overhaul. (Hmmm, maybe that's not all bad!)

One thing I can tell you for sure--if you take your garments off, put them someplace really secure. If you lay them in your lap you could inadvertently use them as a napkin. Or, worse yet, you could drop your stupid glove on the floor, not realize it until you get back out to the car, and then have to return and grovel about on hands and knees under the table after they've already sat another party at the table.

If that sounds like the voice of sorry experience, it is…sigh!
