FDA Approves Cancer Immuotherapy drug Keytruda
The FDA has approved the Cancer Immunotherapy drug Keytruda for Melanoma.
Keytruda is a PD 1 checkpoint inhibitor and it is thought this type of treatment should eventually
work for all types of solid tumors including BC. Other trials are underway.
Researcher are now involved in combining checkpoint inhibitors with CART and TIL T Cell immunotherapy.
Drs are calling this a game changer.

Playing devil's advocate, but like so many other FDA-approved cancer therapies, there's always something dubious about a drug making business news first, medical news second. I'd love to be wrong, but there's a history there that I just can't ignore. Still, remaining hopeful....keeping fingers crossed.

It seems to me that all of these drug companies are looking for investors but with that said, I am still hopeful about immunotherapy. Fingers crossed here too!
(and I love those guys out in Stanford with anti-CD47, hopefully it works the way that everyone hopes).

leggo - my thoughts exactly. We should be hearing about how many hundreds of thousands of people these drugs could possibly help, long before we hear how many billions of dollars it is going to make someone. Something is seriously wrong with the world today.

I wouldn't make too much of the business news being first. The investor relations people don't have to worry so much about being right--they just need to keep pumping out the stories. The medical people want to be right and are, by nature, more cautious. I'm just saying they have different objectives and both can be 'right' in context. I speak as a former investor relations person.
