You know you have lymphedema when....

Ha, just when I needed a laugh. Thank you swell sisters.
You know you have LE when you are on a one speed bike with the peddle brakes and your jacket gets caught on the seat. This jacket issue is something you discover as you go to dismount and end up running into the car port post. However, the good news is that although your LE side made 'contact' with the post you are relieved that your leg took the brunt of the collision.

I looked for this thread and am chuckling after reading its two pages. This afternoon I had this thought:
You know you have lymphedema when your achin' arm gives a timelier and more accurate weather alert than the fancy-schmancy weather radio in your house. And I think I might call the Weather Channel to let them know my arm's available for rent, in case they want to give viewers earlier warnings of bad storms on the way!
Anyone else have a special reason that you know you have lymphedema?

When the outfit you want to wear today, clashes with all of your colored sleeves, and you have to go with the boring flesh tone one. When you look over your credit card bill, and discover you have spent more on compression type garments/swell spots, etc that month,, than you have EVER spent on clothes in one month.
When you are THRILLED to find a compression bra that works and is on sale for ONLY $72. each.
(sigh)
-
when your spouse constantly asks "do you have a question?" Because your shooting your arm in the air at random like a nerdy student.

Very funny! I had a similar experience, deliriumpie--
When the flight attendant comes by and whispers discreetly, 'You don't have to raise your hand, ma'am...See this little button? You can just press it if you need something.'
-
You girls made me laugh.
You know your a LE patient when you try to disguise your glove by dressing it up with bracelets and fancy nailpolish....only to discover that you are drawing attention to your hand.
or when you pump your fists over your head and wave back and forth and a person in the distance approaches you and says "Oh you were waving, I thought I knew you" nope!
-
Hysterical !!! I haven't had the plane experience yet. Something to look forward to. -
lol on the flight attendant button. How convenient, a button. Hehe.
Does this look swollen to you? Look it's bigger than the other side. I think I'm getting big toe LE. It could be real. Better google it.
And your YouTube channel is full of hippy dippy massage therapists. And gently streeeeeeetch......

You know you have LE when you get a kick out of this thread.
-
Marple, how very true!
-
...... I get little cat pawprints on my arm which last for about half an hour after I've picked my little cat up for a cuddle! xxx

-
Oh my, as much as LE is annoying this has got to be the cutest thing to happen.
-
I just discovered this topic. You all don't know how much I needed a good laugh. Sometimes I feel so alone with LE. Thanks so much for making me smile.
-
NanKoch, welcome!
So sorry about the reason you're here, but glad you found us. And hey!--you are definitely not alone. Hope you'll find lots more reasons to smile here.
Gentle hugs,
Binney -
You know you have lymphedema when you have enough compression sleeves and shirts to outfit an NBA team. When your sleeve supply puts you in the same league as LeBron James...only without the multi-million dollar contract!
