EndometrialC before or afterBC DX?

Where do I start!!. It's never ending this crap. I
had post menopausal bleeding in February, had a biopsy done manually by
an OBGYN, was like a bloody McDonald's straw stuck up me,anyway that
came
back ok. They are not very accurate, anyway roll on July and again more
PMbleeding again for over a week, no clots etc. As it happened a letter
was sent to me in April to have an abdominal and pelvic and trans v
ultrasound July 25th, so couldn't have come at a handier time.
Had it done and got the results back a week later to my docs. It showed
7-8mm endometrium thickening with irregular borders. Just what I needed
to hear:-( Doc referred me to OBGYN immediately. Met with them
last week and of course I said I want a fully hysterectomy, only to be
told that I'm gonna be penciled in on the 15th September for a general
anesthetic and a Hysteroscopy, biopsies and D&C. It doesn't take a
scientist to figure it out what they are looking for. Feeling fed up
now. What would the chances be eh,
Ticking too many boxes.
1. 7-8mm thickening
2.PMbleeding twice
3..Irregular borders
4..Zoladex knocks your hormones out of sync which can put one at risk
for endometrial cancer.
5..Took Tamoxifen for 6 months(increases risk nevertheless)
6.Previous diagnosis of BC cancer hormone +, endo is hormone driven as
well.
7.Family history of reproductive cancer(Aunt died age 34)Well at least the blood clot in my heart is gone.
What are the chances of having endometrial cancer after having BC. Will be three yrs out from chemo this Dec
Thanks for listening......Please reply to me, I am trying to keep it in the day but finding it difficult now.

raffomimi, I can't answer your questions but I understand your worries and feelings of wondering if all the crap will ever end! Every time I get something weird it's like the doctor's just brush it off or say you've probably always had this and just never paid attention to it before. Also of it lasts over two weeks they say give it more time or something. I just wish they would do full body scans every few months so we perhaps wouldn't worry and wonder about every damn thing! HUGS to you!

I don't know what the chances of having BC and endometrial cancer, but I have had both. In 2009 I had endometrial cancer and then in 2010 I had DCIS in left breast and then in 2012 tubular carcinoma (a form of IDC) in right breast. So, three separate primary cancers. I know that both the endometrial and Breast cancers can be hormone driven. As for them scheduling a hysteroscopy and D&C instead of hysterectomy, I suppose they feel they should have the actual diagnosis before doing the surgery. Again, I don't know the chances, but it could be something else. I will be hoping that it is something else that can be taken care of easily. Good luck to you.

Hi,
I had endometrial thickening in 2010 and had my uterus taken out. Three Years later, I started having breast problems (florid fibrocystic breasts, skin rashes, and unless they missed something, no cancer but being monitored by yearly MRI and mammograms. I'm 41 so do the hormones really do us in? What's the link between the two?
Raffomini: have they checked for fibroids? Could be an issue too. I'm going in to have a nabothian cyst checked. It's quadrupled in size... Good luck

Raffomini-
I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer about 4.5 years into my 5 year tamoxifen regimen.twice I had endometrial lining thickening (around 11mm) at which point I would choose a d&c instead of a biopsy - I had no symptoms with the thickening - it was picked up on transvaginal ultrasound. the symptom which led to diagnosis was spotting - not much at all, not bleeding. I think there was a symptom that I shrugged off which was a very slight brown discharge which preceded the pink spotting. This does not sound like what you have been experiencing, but who knows? What I want to tell you is this, there really don't seem to be many women on BCO who have had a diagnosis of endometrial cancer - use the search function and see for yourself. there is a rare disorder, Cowdens Syndrome which links breast, thyroid and endometrial cancers and benign tumors and some other stuff, but again, not much mention of that on BCO. I am hoping that you have something like fibroids and not endometrial cancer - because who wants another cancer? However, if you are diagnosed with it, I hope it is caught early, and that like me, you only need surgery and you are done with it.

I'm having a D&C on the 19th for endometrium thickening (13mm) found on TVU after post menopausal spotting and cramping. My BC is triple neg so unrelated to tamoxifen.
Keep us posted on your results. Best of luck that it is nothing to worry about.

Thanks everyone for your response. I'll definitely keep you posted on any updates. I don't have fibroids, cysts etc. Nothing like that showed up on the untrasound/pelvic/TVU.
