No radiation!!! Mastectomy required

met with the radiation oncologist today and based on my MRI, there are appears to be an additional 6cm of imaging "lighting up" on the film.  The surgeon consulted with the RO and they both agreed that the lumpectomy would be so physically distorting that it was their suggestion to proceed with the mastectomy and I could avoid the radiation.

I'm meeting with the plastic surgeon tomorrow to see what the perky breasts can look like.  i think i saw a topic related to reconstruction that I should read before tomorrow.  This process has been made manageable by all of your and your stories, comments and well wishes.  Even if you don't respond, I know that someone has given my concerns a voice.

    thinking of you... Be sure to take someone with you.  My brain was reeling with all the information and I missed half of what the PS said.  Hang in there and ask questions here .  We have your back.:)
